It's just going to be a little wind and rain...
Nothing to worry about. Nobody I know has a problem driving at 145mph, so whats wrong with a little wind coming at you ..at the same speed....your safe, cause your not in your car...right!!

Hurricane Ike
Hi All

Although I am not ready to say we are in imminent danger from Ike - I am ready to say it poses a bigger threat than the previous storms. There is a complicated upper level pattern that will eventually steer the hurricane and several models indicate landfall from just west of Galveston eastward to the TX / LA border. I will keep you updated as I learn more, but would caution you to start taking precautions now. Hit the stores today before the madness begins. I would guess the area leaders will determine if evacuations are necessary and make an announcement NLT Wed. I am attending the emergency meeting tomorrow with our weather team and will send the latest news as I learn more.

I just got my house finalized here in San Antonio. If anyone needs a place to stay if Ike heads for the gulf/Houston area let me know. I've got a two car garage with one slot spoken for already. It may be sleeping on the floor coniditions but it's free and I promise it won't flood.

thanks for the update. I'm not in a storm surge area so my only problem is wind and rain damage. i stayed for Rita and we got lucky as it changed course and went slightly east
