Talked to them too, "all we have open is Washington, Delaware, Texas, (and something else on the west coast)". No thanks

Thats because your freaking nuts.

Ive had mine up to 6900 but I try to keep it around 6500-6600. Our valve springs are a little better too so that helps. With weaker springs yo ride would float a valve at that rpm and then say bye bye motor.

They can handle "high" rpms if certain areas are taken care of. like batmobile said the valve springs. The stock rod bolts are another weakness to spinning that high continuously. I thought it was weird that the rods and pistons broke and the rod bolts were still intact!

Oh dear sweet baby Jesus! Is the bottom of the block destroyed too?!? That is horrible. I guess thats why chevy put titanium rods in the LS2/LS3.

Im not sure if the bottom of the block is destroyed. there is a good chunk taken out of the sleeve and block but not so far up where the rings will make contact. hopefully if it can be bored and re sleeved and make a 383 out of it. Anyone know a machine shop that could tell me otherwise?

I know there are a few in Moore and Norman. My buddy recommended B&M racing I believe but I dont know if they bore and sleeve. There number is 405-519-5283.

Hopefully you can save the block. I guess if not you could always go with an LSX block and go with a 406 or 440 and forge it. you wont have that problem with that setup.

well if the block is reusable my only options are to bore it out to 3.903 or so and use a 4.00 crank and get a 383 or use a 4.125 crank for a 396 thats pretty much the extent of the ls1 block , any bigger and I will have to junk the block and go to a 6.0 block and bore it 30 for a 370ci or bore and stroke it for a 402 or 408
