Not your Grand Sport stripes, 2021 C8 Corvettes receive full-body racing stripes, plus new exterior and interior shades for the year.

Now that the short 2020 model year’s come and gone, the C8 Corvette is ready for better things in 2021 (aren’t we all?). Remaining orders for 2020 have transferred for new production, and the dealer books are open for fresh orders.

What will come down the line out of Bowling Green starting in November? Chevrolet announced a few big surprises today, including a reprieve for your pocketbook.

“Our mission was to develop a new sports car, combining the successful attributes of Corvette with the performance and driving experience of mid-engine supercars,” said Corvette boss Tadge Juechter. “We are thrilled with the enthusiasm the mid-engine Corvette brought following its launch and are keeping it fresh with new content for the 2021 model.”

The first bit of news is the introduction of full-length racing stripes for 2021. Available colors include blue, orange, red and yellow. If that’s too much, though, you can opt for the Stinger Stripe on the hood. Carbon Flash stripes combine with Edge Red, Edge Yellow or Midnight Silver to highlight the center contours of the hood.

Speaking of color, however, two new exteriors colors will grace the C8 palette in 2021: Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat and Silver Flare Metallic. The interior, too, receives a new color combo: Sky Cool Gray with Yellow Strike. We certainly can’t wait to see these shades in person.

On the tech side, you can get MagneRide suspension without the Z51 package. And whatever phone you use, you can do so without the USB cable. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available via wireless, a standard feature for all trims. The driver infotainment mode now includes on-screen visualization, plus a digital track tach.

Finally, to keep you safe anywhere you go, the C8 now has Buckle To Drive. The tech prevents the driver from shifting out of park without first buckling up within 20 seconds of starting the car.

The best news of all, though, is pricing. Despite the new model year, you can still buy a C8 starting at $59,995 for the coupe. The convertible is available starting at $67,495. November can’t get here fast enough.
