2021 Corvette Base Pricing Increases
2021 Corvette prices increase by $1,000 starting (today) March 1. The price hike will be implemented across all trim levels and body types.
When Chevrolet announced that prices of the C8 Corvette will start just under $60,000, it seemed too good to be true, but the Golden Bow Tie brand delivered on its promise. The company’s rectitude was met with the appreciation of its buyers, as most customers opted to buy the more expensive trim levels of the Bowling Green sports car.
We can all agree that C8 offers performance and aesthetics that can rival some of the most exorbitantly priced offerings in the market. As it turns out, Chevrolet has also finally realized the same, as the company recently announced that prices of its mid-engine offering will increase by $1,000 starting from March 1.
The $1,000 price hike will be implemented across all trim levels and body types of the mid-engine sports car. According to a recent Corvette Action Center report, the price adjustment will only affect the MSRP of the sports car, which probably means that prices of the options will remain unchanged.
A Chevrolet spokesperson told the website, “The MSRP of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible at all trim levels will increase by $1,000 beginning March 1. Customers who have event code 1100 sold orders and beyond by March 2 will not be impacted by the price increase on the 2021 Corvette Stingray. We monitor and adjust pricing on all our products regularly, and we’re confident the Corvette remains a winning formula of performance and attainability.”
So, prices of the 1LT Stingray Coupe models will now start at $60,995, and prices for the 1LT Convertible will start from $68,495. For customers, this means that if your dealer has not processed your order, you will have to pay the $1,000 premium starting March 2.
Customers who have already placed their orders and managed to receive the company’s Order Workbench system event code 1100 or higher by March 2 will be exempted from the additional charge. Back in June 2020, Chevrolet announced that prices of the C8 Corvette will remain unchanged for 2021, but since then, the ongoing pandemic’s impact has forced the automotive industry to reevaluate its goals along with the rest of the world.
Even February 2021 was quite a challenging month for C8’s production, which had to be suspended on multiple occasions because of a limited supply of transmission parts and a worldwide shortage of semiconductors. Considering all the challenges our lauded sports car manufacturer is currently facing, it deserves our support right now, and a $1000 price hike seems quite reasonable.
