Another Corvette Crash Grabs the Headlines

I’m starting to get the sense that there might really be some type of media conspiracy to present the Corvette as a dangerous car. Or maybe Corvette owners tend to push the limit a lot more than we’d like to admit. I mean, how else can you explain the fact that ‘Vettes seem to always be popping up in the news, tied to some accident or fatal crash?

I certainly hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but it’s true. When it comes to accidents, about the only car that seems to be in the news more than the Corvette is the Mustang. And that might only be attributed to the fact that there are more of the Ford pony cars on the road. Just Google “Corvette crashes” for reference.

The latest Corvette crash we’ve gotten wind of happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, where the driver was spotted by police going over 100 mph on a highway before crashing the C5 into a tree, according to a NewsOn6.com report. Fortunately for the driver, it appears that the only major injury suffered was his broken leg. However, it looks like the driver and the passenger, who had outstanding warrants, will have some time to reflect on it all in jail.

But the looming question is whether the Corvette will ever be able to shake the stigma that comes with the reckless driving that’s often associated with the car? And the dangerous results that happen when such driving occurs.
