C7 Recognized as Best Performance Coupe in Middle East

There’s no doubt that the C7 has been a hit among car journalists in the U.S. and Europe, but the car has also earned the recognition of reporters in the Middle East.

A group of journalists who cover the auto industry there have recognized the 2014 Corvette Stingray with the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) award for “Best Performance Coupe,” according to a GMAuthority.com report.

Not that the competition for the award was really that stiff. The only other vehicle that was in the running for the MECOTY award was the new Dodge Viper, which doesn’t come close to the C7 when it comes to things like design, handling, and emotional appeal. But when you think about it, there really isn’t another performance car that does.
