This C4 Corvette Wants to Be an Airplane

Swaps come in all shapes and sizes, and clearly some are a bit more outside the box than your standard LS swap. This one takes the term “swap” straight to eleven without shame. Corvette chassis, Mopar power, and a body more suited to avionics than the highway.

So let’s start from the ground up. According to the Craigslist ad, it starts with a stretched ’84 Corvette chassis holding everything together. Power is supplied from a Dodge product circa 1998. Specifically speaking, the “body” is from a 1963 Mooney aircraft, stripped of all the things that help it stay in the air, with the extra Corvette parts placed where an airplane isn’t shaped like a car.

Nearly $6,000 for a project is a bit steep, but fret not, as you can pay the creator’s shop to finish the project. If you’re feeling a bit thrifty, you can finish the project yourself as “furnished are all the necessary major components to finish the project.”

Assuming that a miracle befalls the next owner and they make it road worthy and road legal, a burning curiosity has come to my mind: if there’s an accident with this thing, do they call the AAA or FAA?
