Corvette Split Window Left to Rot Away

It pulls at your heart to see a Corvette like this, knowing you can’t save it from its poor state of being. This split window C2 has reportedly been left to rot in a Lost Angeles parking garage. Found by happenstance, the owner was tracked down and offered $50,000, and then $65,000 for the car. All offers were refused though, so it looks like this poor baby will just stay right where it is for now.

The front end looks to have been repaired at some point, as it is in primer, but from the doors back, this Corvette is still painted gold. There’s no indication of the engine and transmission combo that lay under the hood, but judging by how long it has been parked, it stands a good chance of being a numbers-matching car.

Aside from this C4 found abandoned in a field, I can’t think of any greater tragedy than this helpless Corvette. Granted, it would take a lot of money to get it back to driving condition, and even more to restore it properly. But if you found an abandoned split window, how far would you go to try and save it?
