Is This C7 Corvette ZR-1 Rendering a Precursor to the Production Model?

Now that a few test mules have been spied lately, ZR-1 buzz is at an all-time high. But as seen in recent spy shots, there’s too much camo covering the car to really get an idea of what it looks like. One particularly artistic Corvette Forum member has sketched out what he believes is hiding under all of the bulk hanging off the front of those test cars.

Member downhill sketched out some very wide openings that appear just under the headlights, flanking the slightly altered center grille. That tells us that GM has been listening to concerns about cooling the C7’s various components. Cooling ended up becoming a pretty serious issue with C7 owners who took them for track days and drag strip runs, so it is good to see that addressed. The extra air flow for cooling could also indicate that the location of the intercoolers might change. That’s entirely dependent on what type of motor we actually see in this thing once it gets a full unveil. Will it get that rumored LT5 that GM patented just days ago? Only time will tell.
