This Katech LT1 427 Durability Test Is Fasinating

This dyno simulator might not look like much, but behind the scenes, this Katech LT1 427 is being tested as though it’s on the Daytona road course. What makes this different from other dyno testing is that it’s a test of the engine’s endurance in harsh environments, rather than just a test for peak performance. Being tested under load for a full 24 hours is really a very impressive and thorough way to conduct a test on parts, and speaks to Katech’s commitment to reliable, high-performance engines.

Now that the reliability tests are done, peak performance comes into play. And these numbers are nothing to scoff at.

One of the benefits of Corvette Forum is having Katech regularly contribute on our forums with updates on progress, testing, and pricing. What we know right now is that the Katech LT1 427 makes 700 horsepower, and that’s without the assistance of a supercharger. Torque is not far off with an estimated 625 lb/ft. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, nor has availability, but you’ll be sure to see this baby in a Katech test Corvette sometime in the near future.
