Act Fast and You Could Buy a Running Corvette for Less than $2,000

Cheap C4 Corvette comes with a few asterisks but could be the deal of the century for the right buyer.

Check out this pretty clean looking red C4 we found on Craigslist. It looks pretty nice, right? Scroll down to the bottom and check out the asking price: $1,990, cash only. Yes, really, but there are few quick things you need to know before knocking their door down with a not-so fat stack of cash.

It’s an ’84, so it has, being kind with our words here, the less desirable L83 V8 engine. That 350 cubic-inch engine is rated for a tepid 200 horsepower but a respectable 290 lb-ft of torque. That engine is paired to an automatic transmission. The odometer on this C4 reads just 105,000 miles, and the car is being sold with a clean title. However, as you can see from the pictures, the paint, body and interior all seem to be in respectable shape. Heck, it even comes on chromed ZR1 wheels, with what looks like fresh rubber. Though, it’s worth nothing, that, according to the seller, this C4 will not pass smog. We’re guessing it may need a tune-up to make it through California’s rigorous emissions testing process.

So, it may not be the most desirable spec, but the price of $1,990 has us very interested. Reading further into the ad and it appears that this C4 is one of many vehicles being liquidated from a used car dealership that may be closing. A quick Google search of the supplied phone number shows it as being attached to a dealership called Inhouse-Auto.

By all accounts, this would seem to be a very real deal. The vehicle is located just outside of Burbank, California, so if you’re local and have got a little under two grand burning a hole in the your pocket, you should probably hop on this deal. And, if you do, please contact us, because we want to see this thing in person.
