FYI - The Kenwood instructions were kind of vague. The zip file in the FAQ contains convert.dat but Kenwood said the file should not contain an extension. I think I unzipped the file to the USB drive as convert.dat and another without the extension as simply "convert" since the instructions were confusing. I'm not sure which method is correct since I did both at the same time but am curious to know so I can clarify in my instructions. If you try it with "convert.dat" and it doesn't work, but works with "convert," let me know!

Thanks FiveO. Got it. It works just as you said from the USB Drive. Used "Convert" without any extension. Thank you. Now I just have to shutoff in any mode except Nav and it will startup just fine. If I shut off while in Nav mode, and then restart, I'll get the blue Garmin Nav startup screen. I guess you can't have every wish you ask for.

is there any other way to do this other than through the USB?
My Ipod cable comes through the armrest, and the actual USB portion is not exposed.
I wonder can i do it through the CD drive or even via. blue tooth. I believe i was told this can stream music from your phone...why not data?
Any chance of seeing a C4 Logo and a ZR-1 logo together. Im installing a Z2 soon. Man too bad I cant include my AVI cylon file, that would be cool. Thanks GC

This may be a dumb question, but how do I get these pics onto my new Avic system? I realize I must first download them onto an SD card, but what do I do from there?
Jeff
put them in a folder labeled "Pictures" on the SD
Put the SD in.
Go to the Change Background setting
There will be on option to choose from SD card.
