My only current question is does anyone know how to let audio keep playing when the car is put into reverse?

If you provide a link to a free Android app of interest, then perhaps I or other owners can test it for you to confirm compatibility.

I can probably live without time correction, but having crossover control is probably a requirement for me. If there is no control available on yours, would you happen to know the default frequencies and slope for the main outputs and sub? Thanks.

Something interesting about sound quality to keep in mind... I have one of these in my 2009 c6z non-bose w/ onstar and a similar one in my 2014 Silverado non-bose w/ onstar. Both of my vehicles are using an entirely stock sound system other than the HU. I am very happy with the sound that I get and it has plenty on range to give me the rumble I want on the low end. My business partner and I just put one of these HUs in his 2016 Wrangler and the sound quality was terrible. I am by no means an audiophile and based on your specific questions I am going to assume that you are much more discerning than I am. That said, there was just no low frequency sound in his Jeep. We even swapped our HUs and the problem stayed with the Jeep. We tried running the stock speakers off of the RCA outputs and a 4ch amp but that did not help. We ended up having to install a small subwoofer to get the low range back into his system. I am still not sure what cause all of these issues, but I am inclined to believe that the Jeep had some sort of factory amp that was not turning on to drive the factory woofers.
tl;dr: These sound great in multiple generations of GM vehicles, but may have sound issues in Chrysler products.
as for your questions about default frequencies and slope for the main outputs and sub, I'd try emailing the manufacturer. I purchased all 3 units from carjoying.com and they have been very helpful to me.
Here are some pics I took for you of the factory amplifier settings. And one more to show off the sweet big screen in my truck

If you can find an equalizer app that you are interested in, I'd be happy to download it for you and offer some feedback. I will also be testing out the different sources to see what actually runs through the OS tomorrow.

I am in the same boat as I want one of these head units but without a crossover it's a true deal breaker for me.
I thought about using one of the old school Sony 1/2 din crossovers with one of these Andriod units. I used to have one about 20 years ago and it worked out great!

Welcome! You are not far from me. An Android head unit is certainly a worthwhile upgrade (and it is indeed amazing how many CDs fit on a tiny MicroSD card).
Someday, when I get around to ordering one of these head units, I'm gonna get something like this to see if I can make the factory mic work, otherwise I'll yank the factory mic out and put a new one in the same place.
