Maybe I'm wrong here, and should do like bjmsam told us?

That is is how I wired mine up and all is working appropriately.

Finished up. I had, then lost the chimes; and now hear a very very faint electronic buzzing sound with the volume almost off, so I think I need to pop the console back off and regroups. Had a faulty PAC RP5GM11 that caused some heartburn, but the second one seems to be working.

On the GA2170. How did you hookup the steering wheel controls?
Mine is currently at:
GA2170 SW+ to pin 6 on the PAC (Yellow)
GA2170 SW- to pin 7 on the PAC (Green/White)
And not working yet...

Congrats! I hope you like it.
1. Correct. The HU does not have a dedicated amp trigger. The HU antenna trigger can be used as such, but there is a chance that it is not energized in some non-radio HU modes. GA2170 does have a blue trigger wire - just connect it with the PAC wire
2. Correct. The PAC harness brings its power in on the yellow wire and loops it back out on pin 6 to power the car SWC (purple wire on the car side of the connector). I believe yellow is constant power rather than switched, so I didn't care for that approach anyway (why energize the car SWC resistor tree when the ignition is off?). Cut that loop and connect the outbound yellow wire on pin 6 to the KEY1 wire. The SWC circuit becomes:
HU KEY1 <--> connector side PAC yellow pin 6 <--> car SWC purple pin 6 (+)
HU GND <--> connector side PAC green/white pin 7 <--> car SWC dark blue pin 7 (-)
1. No, the PAC SWC setting becomes irrelevant. I left mine set to 0 which PAC should have implemented as an unmolested pass-through to eliminate the need for this step.

Chimes???
Got everything working but chimes... The connector is in the right spot on the PAC RP5 GM11 device, plugged into the "chimer", rotated volume to all levels, no ding-ding! Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...Bill
