Good stuff man. i'm pretty beat myself...after working a full day, I came home and sanded and wrapped my sub-box in vinyl. Absolute PITA. Vinyl sucks to work with in weird shapes and turns.

For sure, I’ve done a lot of work with graphics and stuff like that. Takes a lot of time to do it right. But on the bose system can I just unplug the bose amp and everything is good to go or do I need to do something else?
If it's unplugged then it wont be on. So everything will be running off the head unit. It should work fine. To be honest man, this weekend will be my first real experience with Bose and vettes. All my audio experience is in other platforms. I just decided to do this complete install myself because the recent spree of hack job audio I've witnessed is NOT something I want for my Z.

Gotcha, I feel the same way, I do it myself so I know it’s done right and I get to learn something new. Maybe I’ll unplug the amp and disconnect all the other speakers and that should be good
So I’ve got everything ready to be put int but the wires coming from the crossover are only 16” or so. Should I mount the crossover in the door or mount them in the foot well and use my 12ga speaker wire to go from the speaker to the crossover wire? Seems odd they wouldn’t make the wires longer

Put them where YOU want them and run your own wire to accommodate.

jmoney, do you have the right crossovers for your speakers? I thought you purchased the Focal PS165FX's, if so there should be no pre-existing wire attached or coming from the crossover. The crossover that I believe comes with them is pretty large and you need to run your own wires to and from.

I actually got ps165f speakers. Mixed that up. Now my issue is I have no clue what the wire colors are coming from the crossover. Does anyone know what the focal colors mean? Tweeter has a silver wire and a wire with a blue stripe, woofer has a silver wire and wire with a black stripe and the input has a silver wire and a wire with a red stripe. I’m assuming the red stripe means positive but I have no clue what the other ones are and cannot find this anywhere. Instructions that came with them are worthless
Figured out the positive and negative wires, it was marked inside the crossover with very small font and covered up by the wires themselves. Just need to run the second set of RCA cables then get everything back together
I'm about 75% complete with my build. Got as far as installing the ground wires for the amps. Just need power wires and to test everything before I button her back up.

What are you going with for your system? I’ve got all my dynamat and ensolite down, everything wired up and tucked away as well as the amp mounted on the back wall carpet and all the wiring hooked up to it. Just need to attach the back wall, put everything back in and figure out where I can mount the crossovers out of the way
Well the main hard parts are,
Pioneer 8100NEX
Morel Maximo 6.5" components (external X-over & tweeter)
Focal Integration 5.25" coaxials (in the stock rear placement)
JL 300/4 Slash V2
JL 500/1 Slash V2
JL 10W7 in custom sealed box
2 Farad capacitor (leaving out for now to see if I need it)
And then there's the sound deadening...

So I got everything installed, everything was working good and sound was great but after about two days my drivers door speakers quit working and now my passenger speakers just quit working too. I get an extremely small amount of sound out of them but obviously it’s not right. Anyone have any ideas for what to look for before I start taking things back apart? Amp connections are still good and the subwoofer still works as it should.
What speakers were they? How did you set your gains?
Focal ps165F, set at whatever the JL manual recommended. I wasn’t cranking them up (10 of 40 on the volume). The drivers side just didn’t work when I turned the car on and the passenger side just went quiet without making any weird noises as far as I remember.

May have to start taking stuff apart man. The connections could've come off. When speakers "fail" they usually smell horrible. I don't think you killed em.

Definetly didn’t fry them, just not sure why they would go out like that. Only thing I can think of is th negative terminal connector for the speakers was a little bigger than the male end on the speaker due to me getting connectors for 12ga wire. They were very tight when I put them on though. Is there anything with the amp or crossovers that might do that?
