Ditching the factory NAV system.
I have read a few of the stickies and I still have questions. If the year makes a difference, my C6 is a 2005 and does not have steering wheel controls.
How hard is it to remove the factory NAV system? Is there a video or step by step pictures anywhere?
If I buy an aftermarket radio from a supplier like Crutchfield, are the adapters all plug and play or is there splicing involved?
If I put in a used stock radio (there is a cheap 2006 one on Craigslist) would that be plug and play, and would the Bose amp still work?

The only 2 things you need to install an aftermarket head unit,
1- Pac Audio RP5-GM11 wiring harness with steering wheel controls
2- Metra 95-3304 double din face plate
Also, I highly recommend that you consider adding a reverse camera also while you are replacing the head unit. I went with a Pyle camera off Amazon. Model #: Pyle PCNM38FRV. Cost was about $17

over the weekend I picked up a stock CD player for $40.
I am going to search for a good thread with pics to ad an AUX input to the factory unit. I did this to the stock radio in my C5. i cant honestly say how it turned out as my C5 is still apart.
I didn't find a thread to put a 3.5 mm jack in it like you can for the C5.
there looks to be adapter to do Bluetooth thru a phone but I am still not yet warm and fuzzy with that. only had a cell phone for a few months now and am not able to use it well.
