I am trying do something though at some times I am not sure what it is.
This month on the body:
trunk area
floorboard
dash
console
engine compartment
horns
windshield assembly
install gauges and housing
convertible top
firewall seals
under the dash
wiring
That is going to be one very sweet '62 James, great detail work!
Paul
Thanks! My oldest son (nine) has been helping me out with the sanding the dash cluster housing. I make sure he is wearing a mask when he is sanding. He is doing a great job. My youngest son (3 years old) has been helping me out also. I gave him a rag so he can run around the body. He likes to clean the body.
Installed the passenger rocker panels. The doors are almost complete need a driver large access panel and the seal kit for the doors. Installed the wiper motor.
You do great work, although I'd have gone with a different wheel/tire combo!
Keep up the good work!My 62 used to be Honduras maroon. My favorite stock color for a 62.It's hard to believe that it's been a year since our car was all apart, although I didn't do a frame off.

Jim, That is great the boys are willing to help out. I am 65 years old and often think of the time I spent with my father working or cars back in the '50s. Oddly enough my first car was a '51 Ford Crestliner Maroon. Those young men are very lucky.
I have the gauges in the cluster housing. Tonight, I plan on installing the switches into the gauge then install the gauge onto the body. Also, i installed the grab bar though no picture.

Remember to put a towel over the steering column and to attach the all-important ground wire to the driver's side speedometer mounting screw on the back of the cluster !!!

No steering column yet since the body is on a dolly. I know I am doing it backwards.
I know the body is lined up well on the dolly (not tweaking). When should I put the steering column in place? Do I just let it hang it and zip tie it to the firewall somewhere for the time being? I remember the steering column can be a pain to install once the body is on the chassis.

Have to let others with 'body off' experience answer that one James....its above my pay grade...
You're doing a bang up (not literally!) job James....doing the research up front, great attention to detail, lots of patience and sufficient breaks from the job to keep from going nuts...
