Maybe at the end of this summer or during the fall.

My goal is to have the body completed and ready to go by the end of May. This way, I can focus back on the chassis during the summer months.

Thanks! My oldest son (nine) has been helping me out with the sanding the dash cluster housing. I make sure he is wearing a mask when he is sanding. He is doing a great job. My youngest son (3 years old) has been helping me out also. I gave him a rag so he can run around the body. He likes to clean the body.

You do great work, although I'd have gone with a different wheel/tire combo!

James - She's looking so fine and coming together fast! Is the color Honduras Maroon?

It certainly looks like it and inspires me since my 60 is currently in primer and will have the same color back on soon.

Jim, That is great the boys are willing to help out. I am 65 years old and often think of the time I spent with my father working or cars back in the '50s. Oddly enough my first car was a '51 Ford Crestliner Maroon. Those young men are very lucky.

More work done...

I have the gauges in the cluster housing. Tonight, I plan on installing the switches into the gauge then install the gauge onto the body. Also, i installed the grab bar though no picture.

Remember to put a towel over the steering column and to attach the all-important ground wire to the driver's side speedometer mounting screw on the back of the cluster !!!

No steering column yet since the body is on a dolly. I know I am doing it backwards.

I know the body is lined up well on the dolly (not tweaking). When should I put the steering column in place? Do I just let it hang it and zip tie it to the firewall somewhere for the time being? I remember the steering column can be a pain to install once the body is on the chassis.

You're doing a bang up (not literally!) job James....doing the research up front, great attention to detail, lots of patience and sufficient breaks from the job to keep from going nuts...

I like your style...
