Patrolman, the wheels I am planning on having made are 3 piece forged, # 306 on their website. I don't know where these guys are getting information from. I seriously doubt that they are heavy wheels.
I never received an answer to this question. Does anybody know what the maximum back spacing is when using a Herb Adams sway bar? Someone said 5" but that seems risky.
I googled about 20 pages worth of hits for those wheels and turned up nothing on weight. They are forged 3-piece, so they probably ARE pretty light.
As far as backspace, why not go out to the garage and measure it yourself? All you need is a straight edge and a ruler. T_T, Norval, and Big632 could tell you how, but I'm not so sure they'll be in the mood. Besides, this is a thread about titanium rotors, not wheel backspacing, right? I'll help by starting a new thread for ya.
what pissed me off is how he brings up the "i can afford a new z06 but it whould be better or soemthing to build a c3 so im building a c3". my family can afford the new z06 and stuff but i dont ever bring it up for the respect of other people.plus i doubt they care.

Let me explain that statement. Nitrous Oxide is definitely detrimental to an engine's life span. Anybody who disagrees is lying or ill informed. If somebody wants nitrous on their car, I wish them well. I choose not to use it. I don't want my car to be one dimensional, like a true drag car is. That doesn't mean I think other people who build a drag car are idiots. If that is what they want, they should enjoy it and pursue it. I am building my car to be fast but reasonable, reliable, fun and well rounded as a sports car. These are my goals and blowers, nitrous, etc. are not conducive to reaching them.
I consider 1000hp a lot also, but how long can you run such a motor until it blows up? Is it for drag racing only?
In my garage about everyone has over 100o hp. seems like everyone has to set a new record at our "shops" . I have the smallest motor there at 400 hp but they drag. one guy just made procharged sb thats pushing 1400 or so. it sounds wicked at the track. The next motor soon to come is pushing 2000.(its pretty much a pro stock motor)
Often people's insecurities prevent them from understanding the meaning of what I say. I was not bragging about being able to buy a Z06! Hell, there are plenty of people who have more money than I do. My point was that I enjoy building a C3 as opposed to buying the "perfect" car. Buying a great car like a Z06 sure has it's joy, but so does building a C3 into a more capable racer than it was. Some members here began attacking me for thinking that it is possible to make a C3 competitive with a newer vette. I responded. Rather than regarding C3's as trash, I think both cars have certain advantages and values. Lots of members got upset at the thought of spending $4000 on titanium rotors but if they perform as well as it seems, I don't think it is a waste at all. I have seen some of the engines and cars here and it is obvious that there are people here who have invested heavily in their cars. I find it peculiar that so many are offended by my interest in titanium rotors.
I only insulted those who insulted me. Calling me a troll was an insult, was it not?
Last post here as it seems to be going no place good.
Many good people have given some great advice on directions to go with the project. And there is also a search function to look up a any subject you are looking for. Also there is corvettefaq.com that is a great place for more info as well. I feel that no matter what advice is given you seem in your mind to know better than everyone else. Even the people that have many years of knowledge on many different levels. I have built little engines of 265 up to 710 that made over 1000hp with reliability. No matter what you do suspension, chassis, engine,Trans, differen tial. You can only build them as strong or reliable as the metallurgy will allow as everything has a limit of punishment it will endure.
Well it seems now that we have taken a poll that you have earned the prestigious name of Alex Troll congratulations for winning this high regarded nomination.
My glorious post keeps moving along. Sometimes I impress myself. Am I already a "shoe in" for newbie of the year? Oh, I would love such an award! Thank you, beloved members! This post is sure to be a classic with over 1200 views in only 3 days. I would say that I have caused quite a stir on this forum. I will be accepting members into my fan club beginning next week. Please organize your qualifications as this will be a very prestigious club. Owners of big blocks who stubbornly refuse to lay down for C5's and C6's will be considered the most likely batch to be accepted.

I told myself I wasn't going to get dragged into this garbage, but here I go anyway...
I drove my 468 Aluminum headed, solid roller cammed, 5 speed, solid 3:55 5 link reared, C-4 front suspensioned Blown and nitrous powered custom vette the LONG HAUL ( over 2,000 miles on the Hot Rod Power Tour plus another 2,680 miles for a total of 4,680 miles in just two weeks!! Now, where does THAT fit into Alex's statement above? Over the top? Sure it is...that's the fun of it! And like Big 632, we don't have to check our mirrors for ANY C6 or any other factory car! I'm out of here!

Beign as I only have a lowly 383, I hereby request permanent restriction from your exclusive club. TYVM!
Don't give up so easily, big_G! You gain points for your outlandish tilt nose and race stripes. I estimate that all you would need at this point, to be seriously considered is to defend your beloved leader as he is being ruthlessly attacked by the common folk. There is still hope for you.
yellow73sb, your car looks very nice, by the way.
