As a kid I had an MG, an Austin Healey, a Triumph TR4, and then recently had a TR6 for about 10 years. The only club in my area is an MG club which welcomes all British car owners and wannabes. We had a variety of activities to satisfy everyone. Good luck with your GT6 project.

It'll feel sort of odd owning a British car almost 40 years old being that I'm mostly native american, but I'll have 2 Triumphs at the point, I guess! A Triumph Daytona 675 sportbike and a Triumph GT6 Mk1. They'll look awesome next to each other. I wish there was actually a good American sports bike maker but Buell's are total pieces of crap and Harleys make me want to puke. Oh well, maybe one day I'll just get another Camaro to keep my Vette company.

It's funny that most of the guys I thought were younger are actually alot older than I thought and alot of the guys I thought were older are actually alot younger. I'll be 35 on 23 Feb, but I look like I'm 25-it sucks. I can retire from the Air Force in a little over 3 years, but people still think I'm a kid....

Good ol' Lucas electrics, inhabited by the Prince of Darkness...

Hehe. For the first few weeks of owning our '67 E-Type, every time the car got warm enough for the radiator cooling fan to kick in the fuse in the fuse panel would blow. Then, after we replaced wiring from the otter switch back to the fuse panel, it was ok...For about 2 weeks. Then we actually got the fuse panel to smoke & melt slightly. Fortunately, the only other thing on that fuse was the horn, so we wired a manual fan switch from the fan to the switch for the compartment fan.

That car gets hotter than our C3 when it's been running for a while, and so even in the dead of winter you're driving the car around with the windows down to keep from baking. Although, with the new water pump we put in, and the radiator flush we performed to get most of the gunk out, we're hoping that we've eliminated most of the cooling problems and it'll run cooler now.

Between the electrical fuse panel catching on fire and the Lucas Distributor choosing to self destruct (somehow the weights got locked up inside the housing and caused it to rip apart the top of the points system and the cam, which made us turn to a Mallory Unilite distributor, about the only replacement for a Lucas distributor that we could find), we're not terribly enamored with Lucas. But hey, that's part of the fun of working on some of these old cars: you bring them up to new technology standards if you want a great running car!

Least we know the younger generation is taking care of the coolest cars as well as the older generation. I'd hate to see vettes ever get phased out by those ugly ricers.

Nothing is prettier than a C3 vette, in my opinion... Ok MAYBE a '57 Fuelie.
