I kinda like the looks of the GT6 Mk1, personally. Either that or the little Spitfire, they've got a little bit of the Porsche look but not quite. I like that super simple 2L I6 the GT6 has. I was on one website where they're converting their carbs to motorcycle carbs like Mikuni, which my Ninja 500R has. I just want to build a late 60's one up and Auto-x it and **** off the people with new cars all computerized and beat the hell out of them with a car that's nearly 40 years old.
I know the feeling. One of these days when I get the Jaguar E-Type running better than it is right now I want to take it down and do an autocross run with it. I don't expect to turn out any great times with it, but man, it'd be a blast to be in an old car like that, making runs around the course and watching the guys in the C4's, Vipers, WRXes, etc. asking why I'm out there making runs in an old car like that and running the risk of damaging it.
And for those that are curious, I'm 28, turning 29 in a few months.
48 years young, 49 in August. I bought my car new in 1979, I was 21. 21 and driving a brand new Vette, right out of college. That was fun. I drive the car now and remember some of the fun and wild times we had together. When I bought the car, I ran into a lot of old geezers around 45 to 50. They would admire my car, and wish they had never sold their Vette. I took that lesson to heart, and never sold her. Now I'm an old geezer admiring the new cars, and go home and wrench on this one to make it competetive with them.

Im sorry I think I am the youngest, I am 15 1/2 right now and have my learners permit. Imworking and doing all the work myself on weekends and hoping to have the vette ready by the time I get my licence so i can drive to school .
When someone includes fractions of a year, you know they're young.
I'm 58 now but I got my first Vette at 18 which was a 1964 roadster.
The very first car I drove on the road with my temps was my brothers 1961 Vette. It's hard to not be a Vette man.
My next project car will most likely be a little Triumph GT6. Awesome little cars, they look PERFECT for autocross due to their weight and size. I wonder if there are any Triumph clubs...
There's obviously a club here, which is good for spares, etc. Need any help then give us a shout & I'll see if I can find any contacts for you
When I told my GF that I wanted a certain sports car made of plastic, in red or black, with a V8 & one of the wildest body designs ever, she decided that she should get a red sports car before I did! She was looking at TR6's but we settled on a '67 MGB (in Guards red) in the end as good condition TR6's were well out of our price range (as were E-types!). Two things I learnt while searching is that they have Lucas electrics(!), but they can be upgraded for reliability (which I did with the MG), & that they suffer badly from rot (why did this country produce so many cars prone to rot when we've got such a damp climate?). They do handle well & are brilliant fun on twisty roads, just make sure you get one that's rot free, mechanicals are cheap, bodywork & rot repairs are a pita.
I'm 45 (had to think about that for a moment!!!). The adage "You're as old as you feel" is very true, though I will start worrying if I ever get bought a set of Ronco rotary nasal hair clippers for Xmas
edit:
Here's a real TR6, modelled by some bloke who looks sort of familiar. Note that it's not in it's full glory as it's been "cunningly" modified to look like a wartime BMW!!
and a real one...
