Sorry, don't have pics of my garage. What I was referring to was the kind of garage where you store your lawn mower, bikes and stuff which you use throughout the year; not one of those garages where you just build cars...nice posts guys! I mean, the average person doesn't have one of those "dream garages" with painted floors and air-conditioning. We're not all millionaires and can't afford detached garages just for cars! Most of us build our corvettes in a grage where we store stuff for use.
Why would I let my wife put her stuff in the garage?
...now that's funny!
I just took this picture, standing in the hall from the kitchen...I try to keep it neat but it is tough to work on one car with the other in the garage. I don't keep the mower in here, it's in one of those 8X10 sheds from Sears that I thought would only last a couple of years...going on 9 years now. I want to build a garage but the dang code is killing me. We are zoned on a large lot (1/2 acre) but I have to stay 15 ft from the neighbor on the side and 10 ft from my house unless I go attached. I staked it out with the builder and the dang garage ended up in the middle of my back yard.
Starting to get that time of year when the frost sets in the morning - this is when I feel bad about the wife's SUV and daughters Spyder sitting outside while my two vettes occupy the garage :o

Here is a little information for you on codes. You say you have to stay 10 ft from the house unless you attach it, well here we have a similar code and I was not going to be able to build as big a garage I wanted unless I attached it. Well I attached it with a 45 FT breezway. The garage is 45 ft from the house. All I had to do is make it look like it was all one building from the sky so I hooked it with a 3ft wide roof from the garage to the house. Got around the code and got to build what I wanted. The breezway cost $700.00 in materials to build but it was worth it!

It would certainly make for an efficient heater for the winter months.
I can't find a decent picture of my garage, but it's no dream. I spent last Saturday cleaning the (not so) empty side so my wife could park her car in the garage. She says my Vette takes up my half of the garage, so my truck has to sit outside.
Here's my garage. Functional for now but working on making it a Dream Garage. Building a 2700 sq ft apartment in back with a 36x24 air cond shop. I will also have a 2 post lift, sanding room and paint booth. Hope to have it done in a year.
Hey jet, do you help restore planes at the Lone Star museum also? Went there a couple of years ago, one of the best kept secrets of air museums. Cool vets talk with ya while they work on planes....highly recomend visiting...
I'm partial to the B-24 Liberator....
Sheldon, Seems I don't even have enough time to work on my own stuff now. Lone Star is a great museum with a lot of unusual airplanes. It is well funded and the people that work there are fantastic. They are having an air show this weekend and if I get a chance I'm going to run down there. I'm kinda partial to that B58 Hustler. Mike
Kool game room. I have a 1/4 scale RC model of an ME109 that I will build as a static display and hang from the living room ceiling when the house is done. Here's what's left of mine that went down in flames with me in it. I'm going to hang the tail and wing on the corner of the apartment like it flew into it and make a coffee table out of the engine. Mike
This is a great thread, and the pics of Slender Tender and Tall are awesome. That is a well turned out airplane. The engine is a Rolls Royce Griffon, 2319ci, 2400hp and weighs on the cart 2417lbs.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
