too bad man. i was in my garage last week painting the I beam where i couldnt be seen from alley , it was about 5 pm, when i hear a voice who saw me at last minute when he was standing by my 72. he said nice car and some other small talk. he had to walk 80 ft. up my driveway. i couldnt beleive it. he was about 19 years old and there was another one in alley. i wanted to tell him get the f off the property but i kept my cool because i didnt want these 2 coming back at night throwing a rock through my window but who knows what they were uo to. its pretty bad when you dont trust leaving your own car in your driveway in the daytime.

Sorry to hear about that, but on the bright side of things....they only took the rings and not the whole car.

Sit in the dark with a pump shotgun...it can be unloaded. When the cretin touches your car, rack the slide very loudly and with authority. Catching him won't be tough...simply have the police follow the wet, brown trail back to where he lives!

Seriously, that sucks! Hope you catch the guy. As long as the car isn't damaged is the important thing. I had two tires stolen off my car when in college. A couple of girls in the dorm next to mine heard the commotion at 2AM and called the campus police. They caught one...the other ran too fast, but I got my tires back.

You can bet I bought beer and pizza for those girls!

Well, the shotgun idea may work really well....or the guy might pull his own 'piece' and plug you right then and there. Not a good option, in my book. Keep the car inside, unless you're with it.

I hope you catch that c-cks-ck-r and beat the **** out of whomever touched your car. That is bullsh!t that someine would come in your yard and touch your stuff. Probably some jellous ***** who didn't even need them, but took what was easy. Get a nice louisville slugger and bait the b@st@rd!

i was thinking of putting a balance alarm on it as the factory alarm only goes off when the doors are open i remember about 30 years ago i had a 71 conv with one on it i used to have a russianwolfhound, the alarm went off ,the dog went thru the bottom of the storm door ,it was still closed,he came back in about 2 minutes with a pants leg from dungrees, they had a large tint of red on them , it wasn;t his, never had that problem again ,boy he loved that car ,i used to take him for rides every evening.as for leaving the car in the driveway[72 coupe] thats why i got it ,its a cheap car so my wife could go to cruises with me and leave when she wants because she has her own cool ride, it gets more attension than my 61 but i always loved the c-3 looks thats why i got it

sounds like you need to wet down the driveway and wire the wheels up to 110V

before I bought my car - thieves had stolen the trim rings and the previous 2 !!! owners refused to drive the car til they were put back on. Luckily for me they appeared
just when i bought the car. TWO years of no driving.

Sorry to hear that Artie, I'll check my stash when I have a minute. I might have an extra couple. Not sure if they are from a Vette though.
