Well, the front flares are finally out of the mold. I actually have one full set ready to go now. these flares have been a while in the making, but it is worth it, as now there is another choice as opposed to the same old thing.

www.2ndgenrestorations.com

The front flares were designed for 68-72 cars but we have made some additions to make them a bit more 73-up friendly.

The front of the flare is made to match the lower front valance of a 68-72 car. Car to car there will be a little trimming involved, but you get the idea.

On the rear of the front flare we added some extra glaas for those with 73-up cars ,since when these cars get flared ,the little "mudflap" at the back of the fender needs to be cut off leaving a spece needing to be filled (see pic) .

If you put these on a 68-72 just trim back to get the desired shape

here is a picture of one of our own rear flares with a regular L88 flare on top of it. The difference is apparent in the picture ,and it will be apparent on the car as well. Our flares have a much nicer radius, getting rid of that big gap typicaly seen behind the rear wheel. Also our factory type inner lip is a nice touch for any car giving a more finished look.

Here is the whole set

And here is the car that these were designed for (MORE ON THIS CAR AND IT'S BUILD A LITTLE LATER ON!!!)

Keep in mind these flares had extra material added to them per customer request.

Also the front flares on this car were modified to blend right into the front spoiler with the factory type lip matching from flare to spoiler

These flares will be made on a VERY LIMITED basis.(we are after all a restoration shop not a parts making business) I have sent out one set to one member here and will contact the other members who were interested. i have one set in stock, and am waiting for another one right now.

If interested let me know and we will see what we can do

You got it.

Ok, this set is gone. Let me know who will be next in line. The next set should be ready in a week or so. ( it actually takes that long to make a set, due to setting up time in the molds)

So, you see... the main purpose behind the flares is so I don't kick up too much road-rash on the front of that fancy new hot rod you will be driving (behind me)

Default Announcement

After a long wait, we are set up and about to start making our flares again.

These will be the L88 style WITHOUT the added mudflaps. We will not be making the mudflap style ones. The only set of those we made were for Joe's car, and wont be making any more.

Thanks to all who have been patient and waited all this time.

These will be made on a special order basis, and shipping time will be about a week from when payment is received.

Due to the recent increase in the price of materials, the price for the flares will be $725 a set plus shipping. I apologize for that, but there is nothing we can do.

If you need a set , contact me asap. First come , first served.

We got one set sold already
Depending on the demand, we will stay on these, and keep making tham.

We decided to make a run of it, due to the fact that we had to make a set for Snowman's car out in Houston.

It is very tough for me to be able to pull one of my guys off regular shop duty in order to make flares on a regular basis, and that is why it has taken so long for us to make more of them.

Looking great! Can't wait to see *Bruiser* with the tires covered up!

They're going to look even better with that 555" boiling smoke off the tires and seeing it rolling out from under them!

Maybe someday you will have such a motor. Your car would look great with flares. It already has the right, very aggresive stance

Hey Jim, I am looking forward to meeting you guys in person. We will have a lot of work to do on Doug's car, but we will find some time to chat about Corvette stuff.

and for you guys that install them it must be nice not to have to re-work the ZL1 flares to get the "look" you're after!

Very nice product.

but I'm broke for now.

Too bad about not doing the ones with the mudflaps. They are so nice.

Maybe one day I'll get a set from Santa.

I have a set of rears of Stan's flares and really badly need a set of fronts. I am begging Stan to make me a set of fronts, but it will be a while if he will do so at all. If anyone has a set they would be willing to part with, please contact me. Thanks!

I am in the same boat as you. I think that I am just going to fab up a set of my own. I am getting quite handy at fiberglass these days.
