I like all models of Corvette's but there nothing can replace the classic C3 design. I would go for one of the suggestions posted that said keep both the C3's, add on to your garage and make room for the C6 too!!!

GM is offering employee pricing to everyone now on '08 Vettes. Great time to buy if you were ever going to buy a C6.

I have a '79 C3 as well with 45,000 miles and matching numbers. It can't even begin to compare with the '08 C6. Once you drive one you will have to have one.

Stick to your original plan. Work double-time on the silver one and sell it. But first, negotiate with the wife. Here are the terms; If you sell the silver one and free up one stall of the garage you want to use all of the dollars from the sale, plus some, to go toward farming out some of the work on the white one. In other words, you want to be driving the white one by next spring. Then tell her, if you decide to sell the white one, at a later time, you reserve the right to go purchase a C6 at that time. I bet she would go for it and you will be driving a real head-turner by the spring.

I haven't driven a C6 yet, but over the last ten years I've had a C5 (99), Viper (2000), and TransAm (99). I don't own any of those cars anymore, but I still have my C3's (68 & 80). When the 'new car' feeling wears off, so does the allure, at least that's how it was with me. That's why I decided to build out the 80, which now has all new suspension and a 550 HP 383 under the hood. I wanted the performance and reliability of the newer Corvettes, but in the classic design. And next it's getting chopped into a convertible and painted either candy red or candy black (haven't decided yet). If I could just find some tires that stick to the road it would give any C6 a run for its money.

You just don't get that with the newer cars. I almost got rid of my first C3 back when I got the Viper, but I'm really glad I didn't because it wore off after a couple years and I dunno, I just always ended up going back to the C3 so I gave up trying other cars.

Remember, there are two C3's in your garage right now for a reason. They didn't get there themselves, so you already know what it is you really want.

Disassembled Corvettes are not going to bring much in this market, especially if they are not being rebuilt as stock. You will be lucky to get a small portion of any engine or suspension modifications. I would get at least one of them together so it is driving.

Having a C3 and a C6 is a very nice combo. The C3 has the looks, while the C6 is just an awesome, modern driver. I would also think about a C5Z.

I say sell the damaged one and get a C5. The extra cash from selling the better of the two will likely be less than the difference between a C5 and a C6.

I have a C3, C5, and C6. You'll love the C6 more than you would a C5 but you'll definitely miss owning a C3. I say give up one C3 and get the C6. Your wife must already be halfway ok with the C6 or she wouldn't have agreed. Just lean on keeping the white C3 and get the C6.

It all depends on what you want. If having all of the 'creature comforts' of modern cars and NOT having to work on the car are important to you, it would be best if you did switch to a C5 or C6 Corvette. Of course, when the warranty runs out, you'll have to mortgage the home to pay for the repairs.

Now that's good advice. I love my C3 but the '08 LS3 C6 is the best Corvette ever. You can sell your wife on how safe the C6 is with the active handling, antilock brakes, traction control, front and side curtain airbags, etc. Also sell her on all the money you will save on repairs.

I love my C3 but like ALL C3's the repairs never stop I don't care how much work you do on them.

I LOVE my 2000 Convertible. It is perfect for the out of town car shows and long cruises. I take it to the beach all the time. and it is my standard parade car.

I LOVE my 73 coupe, because it will be the hot rod I always wanted in high school (if I ever get the time or money to finish it).

I LOVE my 82, because it reminds me of the first Corvette I ever drove. If I had to sell one, the 82 would go, after it is painted.

I tried to sell the 73, but I have changed my mind about it.

I am currently looking to pick up a 1968 convertible. Then I would have the first C3 and the last C3. I might sell the 73 then.

What I really want is a C6 Z06 for a track car, but I don't have the expendible funds needed for a track car.

Sorry Bud, Mustang is the wife's. Vette's are mine! The problem is getting the OK to finance a new Vette, which she says that I need to sell the other two and use that money to keep the payments down for a new one.

Another option would be to wait until the C5's hit rock bottom, which will happen as soon as the C7 comes out, and then buy one and use the drive train for a badass C3.

I think all the time about getting a C5 convertible. I see a lot of nice used ones for sale. But I want the classic Stingray as well. I couldn't get both so I keep the C3.

Bro, sell one, buy one C6, and tell wife you love her. But indeed, keep a C3.

Wait a couple of years then buy a C6 at half the price.
Heck they already dropped in price.
I'm itchin for a Z06..They are awesome.. But as soon as I see them hit the 40"s I'm gonna look for a nice Black on Black one.

But to sell a C3? Don't do it.. You'll always get the same money out of the C3. But I'm afraid after a couple of years the C6 will drop like a stone in price.

I had a C5 and sold it for a C3... Loved the C5, but the C3 classic lines are just perfect.

Lots of looks when driving the C3, since they are getting rare to see driving around, not so much in the C5.

Either way you can't go wrong with a C5 or C6 Vette, get what your heart wants, no one can tell you the answer to this.
