The rear bumper is off, and all the parts are now bead blasted and painted. The front nose is being a bit of a bastard to get off, lots more junk up there to remove.

Well it is Aug 2nd and the body came off at 7.30 am. There was 2 of us and my Son, and got it off with no incident. I wont lie, i was a lot nervous listening to all the groaning and noise the body made lol. I will strip the frame today and haul it off to the sandblaster this week, they will Blast it and paint it for $500.00. Will post more pics as it comes together.

on a side note though and not to be assenine. I know that blue engine color is original and stuff to the car. I will probably get flamed hard for saying this but get rid of that hideous blue and at least do the motor in corporate black with say some L-82 valve covers and maybe a nice aluminum intake and maybe a L-82 dual snorkel air cleaner with maybe a chrome lid.

Maybe even some L-83 finned covers (probably same as L-82 anyways)

The Motor will be Chevy orange with black finned valve covers and the factory chrome air cleaner.

Took the time this morning to strip the frame of all brake and fuel lines, and fix #4 body mount bolt that was broken. The frame is now ready to go to the sand blaster this week.

Picked up the frame from the sandblasters and started installing the brake lines, will do the fuel lines next. Was not able to have the lines shipped to me? so will buy a roll locally and bend it up myself.

Thanks guys. The plan is to get the lines all run on the car and get the body back down before fall.

Since you want to go to a 'non-standard' color on the engine block, why not powder-coat it in chrome (and heads too, if they are iron)? It would be 'different' enough to draw attention. A black engine block is just...."blah" . Another alternative is to go with Chevy orange, but folks will just tell you it's "wrong". Good luck with your choice.

I bought a roll of 3/8 steel fuel line, bent & ran it today. Not easy to do, i hope i dont have any fitment problems with the body and fuel line now? I tried to run it as close as i could to factory.

Well it took 4 of us 2 hours to get the body on the frame correctly and the mounts bolted up.Well worth the effort to pull the body off the frame and correct the defects that were there. This should be on solid driving car now.

Looking good Mr. Grumpy. Never thought about leaving the suspension off the frame to reinstall it. It's sure is nice to have good friends to come and help. Your on the way to finish it now. Have a great one. Gene
