I had the chance to attend the barrett jackson in florida last year. I would suggest any vette (or any car lover) to go if you get a chance. It is a one of a kind experance. Got to ride around the track with the gm driving team in a new Z06 (they ended up literally burning the tires off them before the end of the day)
Maybe some of the idiot speculators that helped drive oil up to $147/barrel last summer are investing in cars. The B/J stuff is all out of my price range, let 'em go nuts, it'll help us 'vette owners instead of hurting like $4/gal gas. I don't understand the dynamics of the collector car market, but it looks like they've proven to be some pretty sound investments.
It is good that the Speed Channel commentators seem to be a lot more knowledgable on the auction cars this year compared to years past. Although they sure spoke disparagingly about the 1975-77 C3s.
I assume that the GM Heritage Center probably provided a wealth of information on their auction cars. I am amazed that they are actually selling prototype and mule cars from their collection.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the "bargain" days. Although they do stick in a few special cars. The silly money will come out Friday night and Saturday.
I enjoy watching it. I'm not sure my wife shares my enthusiasm with 6 days of it.
That ZR-1 was a "one-of-a-kind" with prototype fully "active" suspension. They had it driving around grounds with one wheel picked up off of the ground, driving on the other 3! And alternating! It probably cost a $1,000,000 to build. A great buy in perspective! Tons of stuff like that there.
