Okay, it's a "general" question so no flaming. How many of you are musicians? What instrument do you play and what year C3 do you drive? Just curious how many of us play, either for pleasure or professionally.
I'm a semi-professional drummer who's been playing drums for 35 years (I'm 44 years old). I play for a Rhode Island band named The Senders. I drive a white on red 1979 L-82 auto, which is mostly stock.
And please, no jokes about drummers not being musicians!
Of cource drummers are musicians, but I would say that since I'm also a drummer. I also play some steel drum and am learning to play bass guitar. I dont play with any bands, jsut as a hobby. I've been drumming on and off since the 6th grade.(about 7 years).
My vette is a black 80 w/ an automatic trans.
I pick a little and played in a rock band all through high school and the first year of college, but calling me a musician would be an insult to folks with real talent.
I play lead guitar. Just for fun now days, do a little home recording to backing tracks. Have not played in a band for thirty years. Sort of a has been rock star (in my mind)
I play guitar, piano and used to play the trumpet years ago. I also would say that calling me a musician would be an insult to those who know what they are doing. For years, the guitar has been my main instrument. Oh yeah, I have a 79 L-82 4spd.
Played guitar back in 60's & 70's for local R&R band ,,, then 20 yrs as a weekend warrior in a local country bar band playing Bass, keyboard and 5 string banjo ...
Like they allways told me .." Your good ,but, don't quit your daytime job"....
We Allways had a problem with our "hotshot" drummer ... .... I once told him he had "more rolls then a baker". opppps ..sorry ..you did say "NO Drummer Jokes"
,,, '75 coup ,Red, #'s matching ..

I was responsible for the set and special effects for a band back in college. We pretty much wound down after the set caught fire during a show. That's just as close I have gotten to music.
I earned a Master's degree in performance as a clarinetist a long time ago. I have also played bass guitar since 1965. These days I play bass in 2 big bands.
I'll soon be driving the Ontario Orange 72 again with a much beefier powertrain.
I've been playing drums for nearly 30 years. Since I don't have kids, it's a lot easier to manage. Over the years, I've played in metal bands(in the 90's), bar bands, and most recently in jazz/blues bands.
I hold above my Vette, my most prized possession, only because, anybody with $$ can go out and buy a Vette. This is 1 of only 3 made, a Solid 4x14 Cocobolo shell snare drum made in 1990 by Johnny Craviotto and Bill Gibson(Huey Lewis). Neil Peart(Rush) has one, Richie Hayward(Little Feat) has one, and here is the other:
It is an awesome instrument! Believe me, you'll never see another. I just love talking about it! Kinda like the Vette!

Been playing guitar since 1964. Played professionally for a while as a lead guitarist in a rock band, then did two-man gigs for a few years while in college. Still play "metal" and blues on my Fender along with the elevator music of the 60's and 70's bands on my 6 string acoustic & 12 string acoustic/electric. Use those CD's with blues tracks and crank my Line 6 150 up. Would be fun to jam with locals... do the old Pop stuff.
1966 327 4spd Custom Roadster and 1970 LS5 4spd Coupe.
That's a beautiful snare. Can I ask where/how you got it?
BTW, did you know that that link to your band www.muskratsally.com goes to a german advertising site?
Oops, forgot that our webmaster hasn't re-upped the domain fee. Well, we're on Facebook too.
As far as how I got it, I've been searching for it for 10+ years. During a break at a Little Feat show 10+ years ago, I talked to Richie Hayward about the snare he was playing and how good it sounded. After he told me what it was one of these, I became interested and began my search. Knowing little about it, or how rare it really was. I saw one come up on eBay in Jan. 2006 and it sold from under me. Recently, it came up for sale again. I confirmed with Johnny Craviotto via the telephone, that indeed, there were only 3 made in the 4x14 configuration. I then came to agreement with the seller and there it stays, behind my drumkit.
BTW - for those in the know, Solid was pre-DW/Craviotto, and of course now he has his own company and makes complete solid shell kits that sell for upwards of $8k
