Rusty ignition shielding cover

Default Rusty ignition shielding cover

anyone do anything creative to the top of their shielding cover??-mine is rusty in spots--thks camber

Hi C,
I guess you could paint it with a hammered or wrinkle paint, or have it rechromed, or buy a new one. If you've made some other changes to your engine or compartment maybe you could pick an idea from some of those new parts.

Hi Alan--motor has chrome covers and breather etc--just wanted to see if anybody did anything to the top other then buying new- camber

Unless it's butt-ugly bad, you might be able to polish out most of it.

Depending on where the rust was located, you might be able to put a set of crossed-flags (i.e., gas lid emblem, etc.) on it and cover up the rust. Other than that, it would cost you more to have it rechromed than to just buy a new one.
