Alternator looks painted as does the gold iridite stuff, just might be the pic though

Hi CL,
The wiper door actuator is painted.
The m/c cap is plated.
The alternator body is bead blasted.
GOOD EYE!!!

Does the paint you use need to be heat resistant like an engine paint, or does the engine bay not get that hot? This may seem like a stupid question, but I know nothing about cars, I'm learning it all as I go.
