I think your ride height is about perfect, sure they look great lowered more, but then you drag parts and have very little travel bump stop to trailing arm.

Yes. Boss 338 18x9.5 all around. no change to suspension to fit, only rear TAs b/c wanted a working parking brake and clean look...but not needed.

Did not 'totally' change suspension to get ride height. Used 550 lb replacement springs for 454 iron bbc, but have huge aluminum heads. Rear is fiberglass monospring from VBP (they are a great contact to chat with for technical) and it is 360# rate...I did get 8" larger bolts to lower just slightly from stock. so I guess the answer to the question is Yes I did. I could get a little lower which is what I am debating on now...she is on the fence of just right VS too high. ***careful when buying monosprings...some come ridiculously high...I would err on the side of lower, hence VBP.

I did a ton of checking and researching tire and rim sizing, then actual total wheel diameters. Nitto had a great website for checking actual wheel diameters. then bozeforged has a great sidewall chart for making it all jive.

Have fun!
Would you lose the parking brake with the stock trailing arms?

Hi Kris

Mine were way to close, so I moved mine to the top of the trailing arm and routed the cables behind them, works like a charm.

No I have 18 X 9.5 Coys with 5.5" BS. I run a 1/4" spacer with ET lugs, and it cleared but was just to close for my liking Kris.

Hi Kris!,

As for me on the stock TAs and parking brake...well, I did alot of research and the answer is "maybe"...some people have issues...others not...all depends...

I wanted a working & clean parking brake...and felt it was easier to get the TAs switched than to modify/paying a shop. The only way to be sure is to mount the wheels and see...

Good Luck!

American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. 17x8 front and 18x9 rear. Only clearance issue was in the front where I had to run a 1/4" billet spacer. Otherwise, all was good, did have to relocate emergency cable bracket.

Here's not the final product yet, but close. Will be painting over the winter of 2016.

Both positive and negative comments appreciated. Thank you,

Nice ride!
What spinners do you have on your wheels? Looks great

That's looking good! I had already been studying those wheels before you brought them up in #577. I am leaning toward 17x8 for the front instead of the 18x8, 18x9.5 in the back with a 1/4" spacer since the backspace is 5.25. Did you give 17's on the front any consideration and would the rears have hit with less than the 3/16? I ams still on the stock suspension. Looks like you have adjustable struts. Any other modifications back there? Relocate the parking brake? US Mags had a good looking 69 on their website, and I had reached out to them with some questions but never got a response. Sorry to be a bother.

No bother at all, Allan. I did consider 17" for the front but my overriding consideration in wheel size was greater tire selection for 18's. I have no mods for the fronts. The wheels sit inboard a bit more due to BS and they just clear the calipers. In the rear, I have adjustable struts as you noted as well as 8" spring bolts. I also relocated the parking brake bracket but that was more to clear the cable vice the bracket. I have a replacement 7 leaf steel spring. I replaced the bottom spring bolt washer below the poly cushion to a smaller diameter to gain some clearance which worked well. With the car raised in the rear, the spring just touches the inside of the rim but clears the rim when the car is on the ground. The wheels themselves have a good chrome finish but the chrome is only on the front of the wheel. Hope this helps.

Here is my 79 L-82 that I just got back on the road. I really like the PVD TTII's! I tried to be a little different and not go with the polished, at first I was skeptical but I really like the muted chrome look. They are 17x8 front and 18x9 rear. I hope it's ok to post in the 18's only thread...

Hi Vettemn!

Yes. It is 2009 z06 atomic orange metallic BUT with more pearl added. Made it w the paint shop. Great color initially from GM but was missing a little for the body to pop. LOVE It!
