(copy of post in upgraded wheels thread) MyHere are some pics with my new Coys. 18x8x4" bs front with Nitto 245/45s and 18x9.5x5.5" bs rear with Nitto 285/45. I moved the ebrake cable to the top of the trailing arm, though it doesn't look like it was required. Used 1/4" wheel spacers in rear, and there is no rubbing. Also changed the exhaust to use CC true duals pipe set and Magnaflow 11226 mufflers with center/offset. My previous exhaust elbows were too close to the tires. Thanks to Dustup as I used info from his build in setting mine up.
That's such a great color, and the wheels just really work.

Hi Kevin, I am running Coys also but they are 18x8 with 255/45/18's all around and my front tires are rubbing the underside of the fender lip, the body colored painted area, on 90 degree turns at speeds of above 25 mph. Do you have the same problem? If not have you upgraded your springs and or shocks and what is your ride height at the front fender lip? Mine is 27 inches. one thing I am thinking of doing is going with 245/45/18's up front but want to make sure that whatever I do it fixes it the first time. I have stock springs with new Bilstein HD's.

Thanks,
Front fender lip is right on 27". Stock springs, I have bilstein hd's for the front but have not installed them yet. My fronts are 245/45 and I have not had any rubbing. Can't say that I have tried a full lock turn above 25mph though.
I bought 18" wheels last year and have been trying to find good tires for autocross. I finally got my new tires mounted today, just in time for 3 days of autocrossing starting on the 4th of July.
Comparing the width of the old and new front tires.
The new rear tire is just a tiny bit wider than the old one.

Sorry I was not clear. The rubbing happens when turning at an intersection or an entrance ramp to a highway. Not slight turns like changing lanes or lock to lock. Well if you are at 27 inches also and don't have any rubbing then sounds like 245/45/18's will do the job. Thanks.
Thanks they are stock trailing arms, the stock parking brake cable is very close, but i secured it out of the way
Car looks great I am doing a restomod on my 69.I would like to get mine even lower than yours. Would an additional drop of one in. cause any issues. Is there a longer bolt for rear? How did you lower the front? Mine was a sb air car now its a bb no air. THANKS
Note: the car is straight out of jack and has 0 driving so the suspension is still a bit high until it settles. And I have new shorter front springs and new A-arms waiting for installation.
Wheel size, rear 18x9.5 and front 18x8.5
Tire size, rear 275-40-18 and front 245-45-18
They are still bit inside the fender edge, could come out with thicker adapters maybe 1/2". Note: I have fender flares in back.
The fronts are 17x8 with 4" backspace. The rears are 18x9.5 with 5.25 backspace. I had to relocate the parking brake brackets to the top of the trailing arms. I also have a 1/4" spacer in the rear.
