If I'd ordered again, I would choose 5,25" bs in the rear.

That actually the same wheel/tire-setup i ordered except i noticed that my rear wheels was with 5,75" BS and there is 1/4" spacer. The wheel size was different than i ordered because there wasn't AR TTII PVD chrome wheels made with 5,5" BS.

Did you had to do anything else than move e-brake bracket to get wheels fit?

I had to remove my rear sway bar, and I mounted a shorter spring.
I will try to mount the sway bar again later, if I can make some minor adjustment to it.
The spring was only a problem when the car was jacked up, but I didn't want it to be like that. I changed it to a shortened one from Vansteel. I tried the wheels on a friends car, and the spring wasn't a problem on his car. I guess it depends on what type of spring you have.

Thanks, Jethro - They are:
10.5" rims (275 width tires) front & 12.5" (335) rear.

Rat,
it's completely stock. Been blasted and coated with POR15.
Suspension is not stock. Upgraded to VB&P Kit. All new.
Brakes are stock rebuilds in the rear and C5 fronts

The wheels and tires could fit on stock suspension. It will need flares 4" to fit the wheel width. Thanks for the compliment.

I have just really been able to drive the car since the wheel and tire upgrade and have discovered that the front tires rub the bottom of the fender lip when making 90 degree turns at speeds of 25 mph and up. I have new Biltstein HD's all around with the original springs.
The front ride height is 27 inch and the rear is 28.75 inch with 1/4 tank of fuel. What is the stock ride height and where is the measurement taken?
So I am thinking of replacing the front 255/45/18 with 245/45/18's or new springs front only or both front and rear.
Or I am open to advice.

I finally got to try 1 3/4" adapters on my 18x10.5 wheels and 315 tires. What a difference 1/4" makes. The tire rubbed big time. Looks like I need to trim this frame some more where it bulges out for the shock mount.

(copy of post in upgraded wheels thread) MyHere are some pics with my new Coys. 18x8x4" bs front with Nitto 245/45s and 18x9.5x5.5" bs rear with Nitto 285/45. I moved the ebrake cable to the top of the trailing arm, though it doesn't look like it was required. Used 1/4" wheel spacers in rear, and there is no rubbing. Also changed the exhaust to use CC true duals pipe set and Magnaflow 11226 mufflers with center/offset. My previous exhaust elbows were too close to the tires. Thanks to Dustup as I used info from his build in setting mine up.

Did you lower your ride height? Looks great. What is your measurement from ground to fender opening lip?

The front is where it was at - 27". Lowered rear to 28". Want to keep a 1" rake. My next project a 383 that is in my garage to build, but that will be late fall, time to enjoy over the wet coast summer. The new engine will be lighter so the end plan is 26.5 front and 27.5 rear when I do the final height adj

I have a nice set of Breyton alloys size 18"x9.5 (all four of them) which i want to mount under my '80 Vette because i want the look and feel of a modern rim/tire combo.

I have read this topic over and the 9.5 inch wide rim on front must be doable.

I currently have the original wheels with tire size 225/60/15 front and 275/60/15 back. I really do not like these tire sizes. Up front the tire seems to small in diameter with to much exposed wheel well all around (yes i will lower the car but that only decreases the gap above the wheel) and in the back the tire is quite big (not such an issue)

I am opting for a set of used tires (almost brand new, over 7 mm thread and well-known brand) dimensions 265/40/18 and 275/45/18 which seems to be perfect in diameter. Bigger front diameter and slightly smaller diameter in the back, seems spot on.

Why is it that almost all tire combinations uses 1 grade bigger sidewall ratio in the front compared to the back? (45/40, 40/35 etc.) i can only imagine to maintain an equal outer diameter with a smaller width front tire.

What is the problem if the front sidewall ratio is 40 and the rear is 45?

I do like a bit of forward "stance" to a C3 Vette so i don't mind the rear tires to be a tad bigger than the front.

The same reason why C6 Vettes use 19" rears and 18" fronts i guess.

Any opinions to share?

Opinion?
the 275/45/18 rear is rather tall... The 265/40/18 is a bit tall also for my liking. But then again, thats my opinion. I shoot for a 26" tall front diameter and a 27" rear. Those wheels will look great on your '80!

Hi Kevin,
Wow, the car looks aggressive and graceful, all in one tidy package.

Happy to read that my information was of some value in acheiving the stance you desired. Really glad that Coy's came through for you, too. They could improve their street cred a lot more if they produced this outcome every time a potential customer asked for their solution.

I like it! Congrats!

Did you need longer studs with 1/4 inch spacer?
