Roger, I know you must be feeling you are going to finally get to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's going to be beautiful and everytime you look at it, I know you will have a slight smile on your face and a heart full of satisifaction.
PS. If you get to Pensacola over the holidays, give me a shout, I would love to meet you in person over coffee or a beer on me.

Thanks Dave... I will get two weeks at home for Christmas/New Years... While there "may" be a chance to get some color on the car, it will depend on the weather... Don't want to shoot any color unless I can get the body panels to at least 60 degrees, and it is usually in the 30s/40s that time of the year in Vegas... So, I want to, but don't want to push it...

Default First full day back in Vegas...

Was able to get a line on a bigger compressor, and that will be delivered tomorrow... Now I just gotta find someone that can run a 240V plug in my garage and I'll be golden...

Next, me and Fame (our 9 year old son) cleaned the inside of the garage doors and put the pink panther insulation in the doors...

That combined with a floor heater was able to get the temp in the garage up over 70 degrees with a 51 degree outside temp... So, that is encouraging... The PPG techs said I need at least 60 degrees in the garage and on the panels to shoot the paint and clear...

Finally got to wet sanding my hood... Here's how it has been sitting since I shot K36 back in July...

Then, lightly dusted the hood with black spray paint to use as a guide coat...

Then starting blocking with 320 wet...

Had five to six breakthroughs...

Needs a couple of more coats of K36, and then (fingers crossed) ready for base and clear... I've taken a long enough break, need to get back out there to work on the doors and vert hatch...

Thanks for looking and commenting...

First - Merry Christmas to you and your family Roger!

Second - awesome to see you back at your project again! Looks like your helper did an awesome job. Your primer looks better then some of the paint jobs I see running around lol

Glad you are getting time with family and a chance to work on your '73. Looking good!

Great to see you are back home and back to work!!! Are you now done with school or do you come back east after the holidays? Whatever the case may be, it's great to see my favorite build resume!

Adam--

Thanks much, Merry Christmas to you guys (and all of CF) as well... I'm sure I'll be working on the car come Tuesday... Very happy to get the hands dirty again...

Thanks much, Mike... 1st half of school is done... Home for almost two weeks... Have five months left with a two week trip to the Philippines in May 13 for our field studies trip... Think our graduation is in the middle of June... Key dates before graduation are promotion results (Feb/Mar) then assignments for after school (Mar/Apr)...

Tass is flying out to DC for the MLK weekend... Then she'll come out again in early April for the Cherry Blossom Festival... I will probably try to get back to Vegas sometime in Feb...

Great to hear from you guys...

Rog, you can always plug the new compressor into the 240v clothes dryer for the time being.

Thanks Jerry... Most of the newer houses in Vegas are plumbed for gas dryers, so that option is out for me... I need someone to break open my panel box and wire up a plug... Know I can call an electrician, but trying to exhaust the bro network first to help keep the cost down...

Default Christmas Eve Update!!!

Hope everyone has a great Christmas tomorrow!! Lowes' guys delivered the new air compressor... Swear this thing could eat 4 of my old air compressors and still have room for desert... Hope to have pics tomorrow with them side-by-side... No luck so far on a bro hook up (pun intended), to get a 240V plug in the garage...

Got the vert hatch and driver's door sanded... No breakthroughs on the hatch, but the door (which had plenty of work done to it) was rough...

I also took some measurements for Mike at Flaming River today... He's going to work with his techs to make a custom tilt/telescopic steering column for my Vette... Going keyless and polished stainless...

Thanks for looking and commenting...

If you bought it from Lowes I'm assuming it is a Kobalt brand? If it is you will love it! I have had mine for 5 years and for the price it was the best bang for the buck out there... No problems whatsoever!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Roger, good to see you're back at it. Judging by some of the lumps anx waves in mine you'll be glad you did all that blocking, re- priming, and re- blocking! Do you think you'll have time to get color on it before you have to leave?

BTW Roger, don't be scared off by the base/ clear thing...the mistakes I made were stupid and easily avoidable, you' ll be fine.

Beautiful work as usual, and Merry Christmas!
