And when you're finished, you'll not only have the knowledge that it was done right -- exactly right -- but you'll also have the amazing (shared) experience of the journey and the accomplishment. Sorry, sounded a little like a Hallmark card there, but man, that is some undertaking. Wow.

What a wealth/collection of knowledge and talent...

Sprayed two coats of Lizard Skin Ceramic Insulation today... This product was much easier to work with and spray than the Sound Control... These are new pictures, even though they look like older photos... Again, the flash makes the color look light grey and splotchy, when in fact, the color is a dark, flat black...

Have to let the Lizard Skin cure for 24 hours before scuffing and applying the final coat of U-Pol Raptor over the Lizard Skin... Then I can put all the under carriage braces back on before doing the same process on the interior of the car...
Finished trimming and sizing the spark plug wires... Test fitted some of the ignition shielding, and installed the EGR... After getting the car inspected for Smog, I'll install an EGR block off plate... Finally, temporarily installed the radiator, support and vacuum tank (temporarily) to start and break in the engine... Ordered a Dewitt's Combo today (with the special) and may wait until that comes in... Not digging the potential of any contaminants from the old radiator flowing through the new engine, thoughts?? Got the exhaust connected as well...

Thanks for looking...

Music works great for me - TV, not so much.
Over the past couple of days, did 2 coats of POR 15 on all the metal parts from under carriage followed by BlackCote today...

Got my vintage air evap kit yesterday... Wishing it would've got here a week earlier, but go within the cards dealt... Going to fiberglass the two firewall holes that the kit sent metal plates to cover... Figure I would get a better seal with fiberglass... Made molds of the two covers with fiberglass...

Working on sealing in the first smaller hole along with sealing the stud holes for the original A/C box...

Well check out the back half tomorrow after the fiberglass hardens... This was the easy side as the larger hole with probably be a huge PITA...

Can't wait to hear them... Could be as earlier as this weekend... Plan to video the startup, and will post as soon as I can...
You're just down the road a couple of hours away... You're more than welcome to stop by my "messy" garage anytime you're in Vegas...

Pretty exciting stuff, you betcha...
Turned back to the firewall and finished glassing the front to patch the blower hole...

Happy with the way the firewall is progressing, just wish I could get more accomplished during the week...

Today, got everything checked off, hooked up, primed, etc and started the engine for the first time... Had to tighten a fuel line and it's over heating after about 5 minutes, but at least got it started... Here's a short video from the first run...

I noticed a couple of things...
The first was what looked like a cherry red header...till you moved the camera. It must of been the camera angle.
The second was a flickering just under the dist. vac advance. I can't figure that one out.
Anyway...You've reached a milestone. You are at a point when you feel a sense of accomplishment. Continue the attention to detail and you will have a car you can be VERY proud of!
