They look great...never heard of Cyclone headers. I looked for an online presence, but they must be defunct. I'm trying to decide on long tubes for mine without trying to break the bank.

Man, you are really moving on that thing. Hope the engine runs as good as it looks.

Why do you say that? I've been using them for over 20 years and never had a problem at all. If the fuel line is secured properly it shouldn't have room to move or come loose.

On another note, IT IS ALIVE!

Did the first break in run late this afternoon. Sounds awesome! We ran out of daylight so we'll do the second run tomorrow. Some carb adjusting is needed etc, but it sounds great. Temp held between 190 and 210. Ran closer to 210 until I got the timing setup then dropped back down to about 190 and held there for the rest of the run.

I'll shoot a little video tomorrow and get it posted up. I'm going to get some sleep now, so see you in about 20 hours

Hey Rogman,

You said it brother - after it fires up and you don't have any horrible clanging or odd fluids coming out anywhere, it gets much more enjoyable LOL

It was a good day

OK... Since it moves now, I've started in on the brakes so it will stop

Took the rotors, pads, caliper and master cylinder kits over to have them put together. When we're done, we'll have a brand new brake system right down to the proportioning valve.

You've really made some great progress on it Adam. Seems like I'm dragging anchor. Other money pits (insert house) keep stalling my progress. But I have to ask who coated those headers? I have a set of Heddman sipe pipe headers that I may use, they have the factory black coating that is supposed to be painted over prior to use anyway, and that coating looks awesome.

Hey Kevin,

Thanks! We're working hard to make it driveable again, then we can slow down some and go at a as-we-can-afford-it pace.

I'll send you a PM with his contact info

Default glass gas gauge

I agree with getting rid of the gauge, first ride of mine with simular setup, smelled gas, swore it wasn't me, then pulled over, dripping gas on the maifold,WTF, no water to pour on it, hot in there, lucky it didn't go up in smoke after all the work I did, read on the forum, made a hard line from fuel pump to carb without splices, I was lucky

Hi George,

Do you mean the glass filter? I've never had a problem with those, but not against getting rid of it either. I've always used them after getting a new (old) car so I could see how full of junk the tank / lines were. It looks like someone has replaced the tank at some point, and so far I don't have even a speck of dirt in the filter.

All of my fuel lines are hard lines except the inch or so you see on both sides of the filter and a short section at the pump. I also secured the steel line in two places at the front of the motor to keep it away from the lower radiator hose heat.

You can see one of the rubber coated clamps I used in this photo - off of a water pump bolt:

The second clamp is at the bottom of the block by the oil pan.

Brakes are in progress now. Got the front rotors back and installed them with new seals, repacked bearings etc.

A a shot of a few of the brake parts that came with my buddies deal.

He has my calipers and master cylinder and is putting the kits in. He'll also be turining the back rotors, hopefully this week, so I can start putting in all the new / fresh parts.

Entre brake system will be new or rebuilt except the hard lines that run the length of the body.

Thanks for the feedback Rogman. Won't be as nice as your beauty, but it will be a fun car for us.

I like the Erson valve covers, I would think they are made by Sig Erson?
If so they make some Killer cams!
I ran some "Milodon" covers one time on a 79 and if they don't say edelbrock then people think you are running some kind of experimental engine.

Should have closed the garage door so my neighbors didn't have to listen to that.

WOW. One side done, the other tomorrow. I will defeat these brakes!
