Hope you get your tranny this week. Also, hope I get my car back today/tomorrow and like it (and get my refund for the clutch kit without a fight).

Daniel called me today and asked me to send the clutch kit directly to the manufacturer. I told him that he (Daniel) told me to have the shop send it to AP so they did so. Can imagine how much time is going to go buy before they give me my refund. On another note, should be picking the car up tomorrow and hoping to give a good report to all of you on the tko.

It took 2.5 hours and the Muncie is out. Got to get the flywheel machined tomorrow and pick up a Centerforce kit. If the drive shaft comes this week I will be riding by Saturday.

That sucks. I got my refund for my clutch today. so AP and I are square on the clutch/flywheel. I was told my trans would ship last thiuurs or friday.. no tracking, not a peep from AP.

Good luck! My auto to man switch will be a bit more involved, I'm jealous!

Spoke with paul today. 11 tailhousings were sent out for machining 2 weeks ago, they havent gotten them back yet. Kind of confusing as my trasnsmission was suposedly shipping last thursday.. sans tailhousing? Really wondering whats going on over there. Wonder how long it will take to get my driveshaft?

That sucks. I understand them not being able to control certain things but to misrepresent things to you is wrong.

I'll call Paul tomorrow and let you know what he says. I did not go to the office today so it could be there but I never got a shipping notice.

It is all well anyway. The oil pan had to come down today for a new gasket. I got the flywheel dressed and a clutch today so that's progress. I also ordered new tunnel insullation. It was in bad shape.

Here is a quick question. Does the drive shaft come with u-joints? I can't remember.

Mine came with u-joints at each end and the yoke installed.

Cool, I am willing to bet yours hasn't shipped if you didn't get a notice..

And the shaft should arrive ready to bolt in..

Ok - picked up my car just now and drove it around 4 miles home (have to bring it back in the morning for some tweaking) but wanted to share my initial thoughts. Shifting is definitely something to get used to but I am sure that won't be a problem after a while. Going from 2nd to 3rd will either go to 5th by accident or you hit a wall unless you shift with the palm of your hand. I am sure after 30 or 40 shifts it will become a more natural shift (hopefully). The shifter is definitely higher and needs to be dealt with. AP told me that the top of the ball should be 6" tall from the console plate as measured on a very original '69. Mine is now 7.5" tall. Going to call AP in the morning and see what they can do about it. I don't like their solution of going with a 63-67 shifter handle which they said is I believe is 2 inches shorter because then it will be too low. Can't really provide much more feedback because I can't put some miles on the car but hopefully tomorrow will be able to do so. They replaced the AP clutch with a McLeod which feels real good and pretty close to the original. Haven't even had the damn thing on the highway yet but assuming the get the tweaks done tomorrow I will definitely have some more feedback for you guys.
