Very nice. Hard to tell from the pictures but did you shave the door handles? If you did would you sharing what you used for a solenoid and door popper.

Door handles have been shaved, using these poppers and solenoids.

It works very well and I am glad I chose this system.

Here is my 79 I just rescued from a ten year hibernation in a barn. I'm excited to get her back on the road!

A little late....very well done! I love the blacked out theme. It took a long time and I'm sure lots of $$$ but the results speak for themselves.

Here is where I started.

<a href="http://s211.photobucket.com/user/VetteThunder1/media/Stripping/DSC00180-1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb114/VetteThunder1/Stripping/DSC00180-1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSC00180-1.jpg"/></a>

Razor blades work well to strip the old paint.

Here is the body after stripping all the paint and power washing

<a href="http://s211.photobucket.com/user/VetteThunder1/media/Stripping/DSC00317.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb114/VetteThunder1/Stripping/DSC00317.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSC00317.jpg"/></a>

Here is the chassis and power train that is going under the body.

<a href="http://s211.photobucket.com/user/VetteThunder1/media/Chassis/68AluminiumBBsilverchassis2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb114/VetteThunder1/Chassis/68AluminiumBBsilverchassis2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 68AluminiumBBsilverchassis2.jpg"/></a>

1977 with 49K on it when I got it last spring. Put in a 350 HO Turn Key and a TKO 500 last summer to replace the stock 350 and the 3-speed auto.

Awesome thread, some beautiful cars!

My '79 as I bought it in July 2015:

And as it sat in January after a complete suspension, brakes, steering and rear end rebuild, as well as new wheels and tyres and fixing a bunch of little problems.

Now off the road again for a 383, fuel injection, and tko600 5 speed box. Clutch release bearing went out, so while I'm there... Needs paint at some point to be as nice as I'd like, but it will definitely be black again.
