1972 lt1
needs paint and interior work
i could get it for 18,000.00 . is it worth it
thanks
Price can be anywhere from $8k-40k depending on the answers to the above
A 72 LT-! a/c car can be quite valuable.
I think this one will need some money spent on it to reach it's value potential.
Are you considering buying it without seeing first to discover just exactly what's there. The VIN will tell if it WAS an LT-!, but not if it still IS. You'll need to determine that.
If you're buying it sight unseen ,(just pictures), you almost need to consider that it's a 72 sb coupe. Then it's a little expensive in my mind.
If you bought it, what would be your plans for it?
Regards,
Alan
thanks
I'll ask again, what would your plans be for it?
That could well determine what you can/should pay for it.
Would you buy a car without seeing it in person? Are you knowledgable about LT-! a/c cars?
I'm just trying to make you think about this while the money is still in your pocket, not his.

Alan

I was watching this auction... Didn't pull the trigger though.
From the photos it looks pretty nice although photos can be misleading sometimes. It also looks like it sold... Did you purchase it?
This car appears to have original paint. The interior also seems to be in pretty good shape. If you did buy it, don't be so quick to start "fixing" this car.

Stan i was the high bidder on Ebay although not bring familiar with ebay i told him i cannot purchase the car because it would cost me an additional $1750.00 to transport it with customs , to Canada.
For close to $20,000.00 i do not know if it is a good deal the car still needs some work. Whats your take on it.
do you realize your bid is a legal contract and you can get sued?
amazing....
I won my 69 on ebay because the high bidders kept backing out.
*72LT1 are pretty rare, supposedly only 240 made.
*Rarer C3's are probably the better investment on the long haul.
*Take your price on the car and add:
-shipping, might drive there and trailer it back cheaper?
-customs
-new paint
-new exhaust
-new parts
-more new parts
*I would guess you want to keep it original or NCRS compliant to max the value in the marketplace. Or if you are not worried about that, that is cool too in my book.
Add up the total and see if you are in the ball park of what one in great shape would cost. I thought I saw a few 72LT1 a/c around on ebay or otherwise you could compare too.
If it cost more to fix this one up compared to what you could buy one for in great shape, there is your answer. Of course, a lot of C3 owners are upside down, but hey, this is a fun hobby, not necessary a big potential return on investment venture. (Me myself, would be thrilled to break even, and not even counting the labor, LOL's
)
