Hi Craig, looking at the ways people or shops cover the car for painting. Noticed the cardboard in the door gaps. Plastic covering rear vents. Need to remember that on my 71 project. Saw another shop showed spraying jambs, inner engine compartment edges before shooting car. Guess they had blacked out engine compartment first. So many ways to achieve great results. Pick one I guess!
Peter my painter has another guy working with him who I have been talking with as he has been working on my car ..Graham
Graham told me he painted a Corvette over 20+ years ago in Canberra....A silver one...a 69...big flares...loud etc.
Turns out it was the first Vette I ever sat in and drooled over when i was in my late teens at a hill climb event.......Used to belong to a local guy here.

What an amazing loop.
Can understand why you were smitten Craig. Still looks great.

L88?? Surely not but....it would be bad *** if it was a real one.
After joining the local club 35 years later I met the owner again and the car is now in Queensland I believe.
Originally came into Asia Pacific for racing and ended up here in Australia.
WOW! That's amazing... Crazy to think of a real one running the streets but....I think its awesome.
BTW, outstanding progress on your car, I'm sub'd.... Mine goes to paint next week so I'm hung up on all of these bad *** paint threads. Yours is looking great.
The colour has been matched and jams have been done.
Such a small step but I am very happy.
Showing next to the fuel filler door. Photos don't do the match justice but it is very close.
We found at least 3 different versions of the colour around the car when we were working on the repairs so the eye can be tricked easily to think a car is all one colour :-)
Hi Craig, I was wondering if you had any pictures of how they taped off the car to do the jambs. Maybe you could explain what they did. Doors were removed to do the jambs? Then put back on the car? Curious to their technique for painting the jambs. All looks great and yes lighting can make the color shades look off. So far so good

Thats a good question Roger. I did not see the masking but from looking at it i assume it was back masked. With the tape folded back onto itself to provide a softer edge on the outer surface.
Doors stayed on as we only did the Jams up to the base of the A pillar and blended. Cant see the join as we had some good edged and angles to work with.
