Another part restored while i wait for the Vette to come back home from paint.

The wiper arm gearbox parts.

Not hard but many steps.

Finished arms ........

Start by painting the base in a silver cast blast style paint.
Then mask the base. and paint the copper sections with clear coat.

Mask the longer arm and paint the smaller arm

Mask the smaller arm and the copper and paint the larger arm.

Problem is they can get scratched by themselves very easily so need to protect the contact points while stored

Nice, I always like to see the contrasting color of materials where possible. Makes for the detailed look and really stands out.

Totally agree, Mate! Thanks for posting a link to your thread on my seat recommendation thread, I'm sold on the Wilcox seat covers w/20% discount.

PS. Your car looks great, you've done a fine job and should be very proud

Very Nice of you Craig to take the time to detail these parts and then take more time to share them with all of us. A lot of effort goes into not only the work but the pictures and posting. Thanks for doing that as I am coming up to the same area on my 69 project. This will elp me an I am sure others. Well done!

Hi Roger

as as I have said before I actually like documenting what I do for a few reasons.

1) so I can remember “how to” when I have to do it next.

2) to help others who may be doing similar things as I have been helped by so many other threads on forums like this.

3) gives me a record or everything I have done to this project.

i am the same on other forums, not just this one 😀. Some people will say I am a bit an## retentive but I like the detail and steps of doing projects and also documenting it.

It’s funny I have been in Europe for the last 5 weeks so hope when I get back my Vette will be close to finished in the paint department.

i have seen 3 Vette’s while I have been here.

A mid 70’s coupe as a rental car on a Greek island.

A red wide body C3 passed us on the streets of Nuremburg.

and a yellow C5 yesterday driving up the side of the Rhine river.

each time it has made me want to get back and work on mine.

From Cephalonia Greece. Rent me on a stinking hot day !!!!!!!!

Thanks

The closest we got to Slovenia this time was Venice.

interstingly a couple we had dinner with each night around Greece we’re heading to Slovenia once the cruise finished.

Almost home now, in Singapore.

Paint looks GREAT... Especially for not even being cut and buffed yet. Going to be beautiful when its done. You and I are in the same stage of the project currently. We are reassembling now.
