As i said a little while back I have adjusted my ride height to give an even gap between the tyres and the guard front to back, that meant i had to raise the front a little. I was looking for some form of symmetry :-)
Measurement ground to lip is
- Front 26 1/4"
- Rear 26 3/4"
From measurement the front semi coilers are somewhat at middle stroke at ride height with 1 1/8" available stroke drop before they hit the bump stops.
My rears are already set so I have fairly even compression and extension available (covered in way too much detail before).
When I get time I will have a chat with Dan from VanSteel to confirm the front stroke and what advantage, if any, full front coilers may provide.
I would have to say your rear looks a bit too low. No rake or to little rake on these cars will cause the front end to lift at high speed.
Not saying that you would ever bend the speed limit of course. As over here in Australia they seem to think that speed is just the end of everything. But of course have no drivers education.
None the less.
Some rake in this body style car is absolutely necessary to maintain high speed handling.
I get that Mate.
of course I NEVER exceed the posted limit here in Australia.
However, I do put mine on the track from time to time.
And handling at speed is everything to me.
In the photos it does appear there is a slight rake when sitting still.
We all know as soon as you put it on the road, even at cruising speed the torque from the rear wheels and air forced under the car, will lift the front end deleting any rake as you have it set.
Of course suspension stiffness and front end weight play a part in this, but I would think that with the slight rake you have the suspension set at, you would have a front end higher than the rear at speed on the highway and even more so during acceleration.
I would consider lifting the rear more and filling the wheel well gap with a larger diameter rear tire.
That’s just my opinion and it will be interesting to see what Dan recommends.

You make a good point re rear squat.
With my old suspension putting the Vette in drive would make the rear squat a fair bit, with the coilovers in the rear it does not squat much at all. You feel the drivetrain take the torque but the rear drops very little.
Would be interesting to see what it is like when in motion.
From what I have read lowering the car reduces some of the potential lift issues and I have my fair share of drop.
As for rake the figure of 1/2” front to rear was quoted in a number discussions to alleviate the issue as well. Some said 1” but that seemed to more related to more stock height cars.
Also for autocross minimal rake seemed to be used.
Will need to work out how to best measure it first. 😀
It certainly looks awesome in the picture above.
I can’t remember if you are running headers or not.
If so, how is the clearance between the collectors and the ground?

Thanks, I have had no issues with the header flanges scraping.
The Flowtech headers I run sit nice and high. Also with the recent exhaust remake we went to a 2 bolt solid flange on them for better seal as well as tucking it all up nice and high.
The only place I seem to ever scrape is near where it goes under the diff. But that is not very often.
That car, with those wheels and that stance, is almost as perfect as a car can look........with the exception of a black 69 with the same wheels! LOL.....you have created a beautiful thing.

Thanks, yes I love Bridgehampton blue with a blue interior but there is something special about a black Vette with a red interior.
Not a C3 but I saw this one at the Grand National Roadster show a number of years back. Gorgeous.
I went to a car show today and to my surprise………..
Was at a school called Holy Trinity. The car show was Trinity Car show (GM, Ford & Mopar)
One was a captains pick for the local schools manager and the other was Best of Show judged by local street machine club and was a points based system covering all aspects of car.
Also for Rescue Rogers and his tri power efforts I though this was appropriate.
Have spent the last couple of days moving all my images to a new service and updated every post in my build thread to point at the new image addresses.
I also updated any post I commented on back till 2019.
Don't want to have to do that again but had to be done as I am shutting down my own hosted server setup where I have stored all my photos.
