So have been using the Vette more and the fan controller has been keeping it nice and cool.

May mount the small screen in the diagonal trim panel that is at the fright front of the console. Have it off by default but allow it to come on with a longer press of the button in the ashtray.

I decided to finish up what i started a while back with cutting down the posts used on the luggage rack.

Have had plugs in the holes up to now.

This is what it looked like originally.

I cut about 1.5cm out of the posts leaving them just 2 cm tall.

Happy with how it now sits down lower.

I still have all my painted plugs in case i want to go back but I like the chrome accent on the large flat deck, especially now its tucked down more.

Well done! It's amazing how such a slight change can transform the look, just like when you tuck in the bumpers a little tighter. My 77 doesn't have any chrome, so I stare and drool when I see photos of your car. Thanks for the update!

Are you running a 17” and 18” tire/wheel combination or are they the same size all around?
It looks good!

Thanks, 18” x 8” all round with 245/45 front and 255/45 rear. Lowering the body so the wheel gaps are even and smaller than stock makes a big difference to the overall wheel and tyre look.

yes it’s often just small subtle changes that can make big differences in how you eye perceive things.

Thanks for the comments, I feel I have made it over the crest now and all my projects are just incremental improvements or refinements 😀.

I seem to not be happy to just to sit back and admire and enjoy it, i need to think of “what next”

Craig you projects aren't just incremental improvements but all out upgrades of a wonderfull Corvette.
I can't even imagine what you would do if you would have done a frame off restoration.
Love your work and attention to details!

I just can’t sit either.
My poor wife is shaking her head, because I’m already looking for a nice Jeep CJ for my next project or even a couple of trail bikes to go play with in the back country.

Local car show here on Sunday.

I did not take any photos but someone posted this one to a local forum.

That’s got to be a feel good moment, when someone you don’t even know, thinks enough about your car to post a picture of it on a forum.

Yes it’s nice to see it being posted by others, in fact I was told about it by a friend who saw it on a classic motorbike forum after the show.

There was a few HQ to HZ vans at the show, some survivors and others fully restored or custom. One of my friends has a 67 Vette and HQ panel van, both very nice.

Holden, Ford and Valiant all made them in Australia. Imports included Morris Minor panel vans, and others. Panel Vans were popular... often called sin bins, not sure why LOL

Holden was the local arm of General Motors and the HQ was made from 1971 to 1974.

It came in a number of varieties with both 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder motors (including chevy v8’s and local designed as well.)

Sedan

Sports SS/GTS/Monaro

2 Door Monaro

Station Wagon

Ute

Panel Van

I had a Dodge Surfer Van back in the 70’s I towed my ski boat with and used for camping.
I was just out of high school and couldn’t understand why the girls I knew father’s wouldn’t let them ride in my van.
Nothing ever happened in surfer vans back in the 70’s.

Hmmm...... I think you're having trouble remembering !

Maybe that has something to do with what did happen in the back of those vans in the 70s!
