I looked at oval exhaust tube where the pipes come under the diff but we managed to tuck it up fairly well and my diff is a bit higher than normal with the delrin mounts.
The photos possibly make it look worse but I think he will be able to get the pipe in ok and still tuck it up.
have only had the pipes scrape once towards the diff.
I crushed the pipe way more than needed as I tried to compensate on the other side it ge it to align at the flanges.
certainly hoping this pan seals better.
I was thinking that if you turned the flat portion of the exhaust tube so it is facing the transmission, it would give you additional clearance between the pan and the tube.

I will discuss that option with my exhaust guy.
At present I need to remove the pipes to tighten the pan etc so extra clearance would be good.
I have always had a very small water leak when I wash the car just behind the seats.
It would appear that when the water runs down the B-Pillar and hits the lower water deflector some always seems to make it through and onto the carpet.
So I did some testing and ended up making a few minor changes.
First I ensured that each of the holes that holds the vertical trim did not have spots where water could run through then down behind the trim panels.
Then I added some weatherstrip behind the vertical trim strip to ensure water was deflected back.
I then ran a strip of weather seal onto of the factory water deflector.
Each time I test by shooting water down the back of the T-Top
Finally I made a small seal to fill the factory gap at the end of the sill. Always looked a bit unfinished.
No leaks in testing but I am sure water will keep working out a way.

Thanks for this tip Craig. You're a smart cookie !
Learning new stuff from you, now i know why i have 3m caulk strip left of the entry sill plate I think the previous owner fix it there.
Do you add the weatherstrip over the strip rivet?
Thanks!
Yes The weatherstrip is on top of the existing diverter that is riveted to the door frame. It just adds extra height to stop the water flowing over the riveted diverter. I also put caulking behind the rivets that hold the vertical weatherstrip at the B Pillar. Anywhere I thought water may find its way.
it’s an ongoing process to get the Vette leak free. Given GM had a couple of changes to the door water diverter over time it was obviously a common issue with owners, especially on earlier year C3’s
if you remember I don't have that water diverter on mine, GM had an assembly line change and removed it before my June '72 was built...
I recall Alan. I think the original diverter was added around late 69, (probably after people complained of wet carpet). Then it was replaced with a metal one (possibly 72) and again changed in later years.
you build must have been when they stopped the fiberglass one but had not added the metal version.

Correct, my early 72 with built August 71 (540) had the diverter strip. To my knowledge the change was about built 1200 (1972) in and the reengingeering desing came in 1974.
My white stripe 15’s looked brand new but were well over 10 years old.
When we checked the inside they were starting to crack so I needed new tyres. I searched for thin white stripe tyres but none available at a reasonable price.
I settled on Vitour as the reviews on may forums have been great.
The Vitour Galaxy tyres are H rated and come in a good range of sizes. Modern tread design as well.
I went with 215/70R15 as this is about a classic look. I have my 18’s if I want wider.
I have done a quick drive after fitting them up and I can say they are very smooth and give a very good feel.
The set of 4 set me back not much more than what I paid for just ONE 18" or 19” Tyre for my other cars.
They balanced up with a minimal amount of weights needed.
Thanks for reporting the feedback on the tyres Craig. I was looking at the same make and model as it is available in Slovenia as well.
Good to hear you are happy with the buy.
I had some deliveries this week ready for some new projects.
Changing to Type II power steering pump and remote reserviour, thanks to member kanvasman for the pump at a great price.
Swap in a stronger alternator, Volt gauge and extra duty wiring.
New Vitour tyres turned up for my 15" classic rims.
I purchased the same power steering pump but haven’t purchased a new pulley yet.
Which one did you go with?
Can you post where you purchased it, the manufacturer and part number please?

Hi Primoz, I am going on a longer drive on Saturday so will give some more feedback after that.

I purchased the Tuff Stuff one listed on their site through Summit…However I am hoping it will all fit ok.
When looking through some of my spare parts I found 2 other pulleys I purchased when rebuilding my original Saginaw pump. Will have to do some comparisons. They are all press fit.

Thanks for the info.
I bought my pump from Tuff Stuff awhile back and they didn’t offer the pulley at the time.
I’ll give them a call and get one ordered.
I had a look at the pulleys and I have an original GM one and a generic one.
The one I got from Tuff Stuff is NOT going to work. It has a much bigger diameter hole than the stock ones. Not sure what it is meant to be used on, the doco says for a Saginaw pump
The stock ones look more likely to be able to fit to the Type II pump shaft.
So back to the drawing board, will need to see the options.
