I wish I was that far Craig. It is coming along nicely but I discovered some rust at #3 bodymount and I have to change that part. It took a little wind out of my sails but Im hanging in there.

Hi Primoz, yes there seems to be roadblocks lurking just around the corner on these projects. Often one step forward and two back. I was ready to install my new suspension years ago but got sidetracked to years of body and paint work when the car was damaged by some f#chwits. They can knock the wind out of your sails but you will get back on track.
The new interior looks awesome!
I noticed in the photos above that you upgraded the seatbelts to the later model one piece lap and shoulder restraints.
Can you provide what you had to do to install the new restraints?
What year and model belts and hardware did you use?
Where did you purchase the belts and hardware?
I'm getting ready to have my 73 oem belts rebuilt, but would rather go to this newer style if it is doable.
Do they work better than the older two piece lap and shoulder belts?
If you covered this earlier in your thread, just let me know where and I'll go back and look at it.
Thanks, Greg

I did not cover it in detail Greg but there is some info on page 1
To register the Vette in Australia I needed seat belts that met the Australian standards so basic black ones were fitted with a simple lap sash retractor.
Many people swap to the later pillar pivot but I liked how they come through the seats.
I then had to enlarge and smooth the spot where it comes through the seat as they rubbed and started to fray
I then got them re-webbed in blue fabric to match.
Also I had to enlarge the opening in the retractor covers to handle the wider belts.
Other than that they were fairly easy to install.

Yes I love the look of red on red as well. They seem to scream classic.
First car event in a long while was nice to get the 71 out and drive it a bit.
So different driving it with some underlay and carpets in. All those strange noises disappear.
The Vette is so solid on the road, drives amazingly smooth even over bumps etc, the combination of suspension etc has transformed it into a different car.
I like this style of event so many different cars and bikes to look at and talk with owners about their projects.
Looks like a fun event with perfect weather.
Here in Northern California we are supposed to get 5 inches of rain and 90 inches of snow in the Sierra’s.

Thats a big difference to down here but that was first dry sunny day that we have had in a while. Its meant to be summer but we have had rain, cold etc.... not what i would call summer yet.
Have been too busy renovating rooms, jackhammering tiles, etc etc to touch the Vette for a while but the work is easing up so I need to get back to other projects.
I have been keen to go to an electric power steering pump so i purchased a TRW one from an Astra to do some testing on where I can mount it. I also like the one from the Mini Cooper that lays flat with a remote tank so will do some measuring and decide my next steps.
I hadn't seen those tow plates before.
Was defiantly going to make something for the rear diff mount when i changed my diff.
I'd actually drawn something up in CAD couple years ago, but never progressed any further....
Electric PS, is that to free up hp or to have a cleaner looking engine bay?
I was so looking forward to seeing you and your vette again at the Nationals @ Easter... ... damn Covid.
In fact i'm off work for 10 days in self isolation with it at the moment, head/back ache and score throat.
