1971 Journey

It is very controlled and not harsh or jarring at all with good suspension travel up and down before getting near the cut down bump stops.
The thing to keep in mind if someone wants to go fairly low with the Vansteel Coil-Overs you will need to discuss with Dan about the shorter shock bodies in the kit.
Also the Vansteel delrin diff crossmember mounts help with alignment of half shafts etc once you drop the ride.

I added a cutoff/trip to the extra power circuits I use for stereo, amps etc.
They are all separately fused but this gives extra control.

Previously I had done something similar using the removable storage tray as the housing but did not like loosing the space.
Purchased an Infinity Baselink Mini to do some testing and it is a nice unit with good bass for its size.
I decided the best way to mount it was solidly and that would mean some more sound deadening for the storage compartment.
First I drilled out the rivets used to attach the jack mounting points, then made a template for the bottom of the compartment.
This way I can always go back if I want.

Then I made a panel in MDF and added some captive nuts to allow it to bolted in from below through the existing rivet holes.

The amp is bolted to the panel

The panel gets some extra strengthening that fits the contours of the base of the storage compartment

The storage compartment is covered with Dynamat.

Once happy with the panel i sealed the edges and primed and painted it satin black

I already have a fan controller but I decided "soft start" was a good thing to add.
The more I looked at the more I liked the idea of using an Ardurino to control the PWM modules.
So first step was to mount up the Mazda PWM control modules and I decided to do this under the centre of the fans/radiator
Bent up an aluminium mounting bracket to hold the 2 modules I will use.

The bracket mounted under teh car.

There is only one PWM module mounted so far as I had one of the units I purchased fail while testing (in fact it was a dead short on first test. Have ordered a new one and some pigtails that should arrive soon.
Once i wire them in they will give a soft start to my existing fan controller.
In the meantime I am teaching myself how to program the Arduino using code from DblTrbl as the starting point.
Keeping me busy and good fun.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

up front I am using the same dual adjustable QA1’s but with global west arms. It is documented earlier in the thread. Have a look at page 1 where there is an index. ( I need to update it again for latest pages)

Glad documenting helps others, it also helps me as when i need to re visit anything and my memory needs assistance

I just bought the identical car to this. I will take delivery in a couple of weeks. Over time I am going to carefully go through all this info since it will save me a ton of time in the future.

Wired them up to my existing fan controller and I get a nice soft fan start that steps up to full speed.
Now I need to work on the new control module to step the speeds based on temperature.
