The inner guard has a number of holes in it from my old vacuum tank and the vapour canister I originally mounted too high so I ground them all out to a taper and filled them with glass.

This fender appears to be the only one ever hit hard on my Vette. A partial guard replacement and repairs to the inner guard being the extent.

The inner side will get smoothed and resprayed satin black while some bed liner will go over the wheel side.

While I had nothing to do i had a look at the speedo and tachometer as my odometer did not work properly.

After dissembling the speedo i found the worn part and have ordered a new one.

A lot simpler to do than I had imagined after following some instructions showing you don't need to remove needle.

Also remove any rust and repaint the parts.

Link to doc re disassembly without removing needle....http://corvettefaq.com/c3/odometer.doc.

Craig as I was looking fo a new speedo and tach I ordered from one of your fellow Australians. He does very nice work refurbishing old components and is priced reasonably.

Glen does an amazing job Primoz.

His blue Vette could have come down the line at the same time as mine. 😀

i actually spoke to him a couple of days back re doing mine as well. However I got carried away when I was dismantling the dash clusters and stripped the speedo all down.

He seems to get a stream of work from the US, Europe etc.

Pedal box and brake booster back in car.

As per other posts, couple of 3/8" extensions and a wrapped universal and access to the bolts is simpler.

With everything out getting the clip on was also fairly quick.

Nice work Craig. I'm waiting for your dashboard work and how will it go back in as I need to remove it also. How is the wiring harness? Did you change it for the dashboard?

thanks Primoz.

Will get to dash soon.

I replaced the harness in the engine bay but inside one is in good condition so just a clean up and tidy.

Before dash goes back I will re route some of the smaller harnesses for neatness and easy of fitting things. Given its all out why not 😀

Well of course. As I embark on my suspension work I'm working out which things to do along with suspension as it is already dissassembled. There is some planning involved with restoring our beloved Corvettes fo sure.

While its apart i have added a Ridetech strengthening bracket for the Borgeson steering box.

I used a new set of coach end bolts to avoid rubbing tyres on full lock rather than the supplied bolts.

Craig, just the modification I ordered. The Borgeson box and the strengthening bracket. Can't wait to see how the vette steering will feel after that.

I will be interested as well Primoz.

The Borgeson was a big improvement and hopefully a little tighter again with the bracket.

I did a bench bleed on the new master cylinder today.

Put it in vice and used the simple kits available from parts stores.

Took a few minutes to get all the air out.

Been doing some repairs on the drivers dash pad while it is out.

The side that goes into the door jam had over time become misshaped so I cut it apart and glassed it back to a better shape.

Lots of trial and error then filled the gaps with Evercoat FiberTech followed by body filler etc.

There was also a few cracks on the bottom edge that got done with gap fill superglue followed with some body filler.

Painted it with plastic primer. You loose some of the texture but can recover it a bit when you spray the colour coats

Master Cylinder back in Vette and all lines tightened up. Just need to bleed it all now.
