Thanks for the kind words Primoz, my family often make fun of my pedantic nature and some of it has been passed down to our kids but not all. My youngest is the exact reverse and is the most chilled and easy going person. Nothing fazes him.
This is part of a speech I gave at his wedding talking about his attributes……
Perfectionist - Some people would say that I am a bit of a Perfectionist, possibly bordering on obsessive compulsive behaviour, and I did not necessarily want to pass that on to my kids.Well, I certainly didn’t to Jason. Usually Jason will be more than happy with getting things done ok but not perfect. When working on something with me he would often say “it’s good enough” or “let it go”. Possibly it’s not perfectly level, but just tilt your head and it’ll be ok.
But there’s one area where Jason could not and did not settle for “good enough” and that was when choosing his perfect partner in Bronte……and Miriana & I, and our whole family, could not be happier.
We are all different and that’s what makes the world so great.
I will certainly keep “enjoying” my Corvette and I will even get to updating my build thread index soon 😀
What if you redid that mounting bracket with a z bend right after that mounting hole? Couldn't you then recess it in a bit?
Not looking at the car. So maybe there's no room up there. Just thinking.

I tried that first Doc, but did not leave enough room to mount the socket.
Also thought about putting it under the tail light bracket but then I don’t get the chance to lock it between the glass and the number plate frame, that gives it a more solid mount for constant plug …unplug.
I am taking these pictures from below the number plate, when it’s on the ground the socket is not visible at all.
Like I said, I'm not looking at the car. Should have known you would have tried that first.
And I'm certain once on the ground, almost no one would ever notice.
Me, I just run the charger wires out the window on those rare occasions that I actually put mine on a charger.

I’ve been doing the same with mine since I bought it, but now I’m planning to find someplace better and I really like this location.
Nice work!
Looking at the license plate frame, I remember as a kid driving past the old Felix Chevrolet dealership.

My 71 started in Florida and ended up in Los Angeles so I think Felix Chevrolet is a fitting frame. Great history between the Dealer owner and the Artist who created Felix the cat as well.
Went to a Cars & Coffee event this morning and this afternoon we are minding our 17 month old grandson William. 😀
William wanted to sit in the Vette and pretend to drive.
Was amazed that the headlights popped up with a solid lift when we pulled the light switch….. it had been parked in the garage for at least 2 1/2 hours.
We were just discussing vacuum relay rebuilds on a thread the other day.
So, I too went to a Cars and Coffee meet this morning. Got home about 10:30. Read your post just before 3 this afternoon and I was about to head out to the shops as I didn't get that done this morning.
thought on my way out I'd test this as I just put in my newly rebuilt units Friday evening.
pulled the switch. Sitting approx 4 1/2 hours. Pop, pop go my lights. Then I turned them off. They just sat there.
Well, enough stored vacuum for one cycle.
Not surprising as when I was testing them I noticed a large drop in vacuum at the reservoir when I cycled them with the engine running.
Mine won't pop up after engine off for 5 minutes. When I drive with the lights on I sometimes smell that inside of a tire smell. Gotta be a leak under/behind the dash somewhere.

Well there is a heap of junctions under the dash where a hose could not hold. Interesting that it smells while lights are on.
There is a Vette event here in Canberra this weekend.
A number of owners from various states of Australia came here for a ”Not The Nationals” event, just a catch up.
Some drove for many days to get here and hopefully all will have a good time.
I attended last nights event, food, drinks and a good chat while looking at people’s pride and joy.
Did not take many photos as its nice to just meet and talk face to face with people who you normally only chat with on this forum, Facebook, emails etc.
Saturday and Sunday will be more drives, eating and drinking then they will all make their way home.
I could not attend today or Sundays events but I saw these posted just now from today’s drive to Araluen, a small country town. A couple of hour drive each way.
This is one I started a number of years back when I purchased a test white stripe off TredWear.
It sat on my shelf till I saw Rescue Rogers do his red stripes then I purchased a full kit and also stored it on the shelf.
Given my original white stripe Michelins were too old I needed to have an alternate set of original style wheels and tyres for the classic look. I started with white letter but then decided I wanted white stripe so I reversed the tyres.
Well today I decided to give it a go.
Starting with one wheel I thoroughly degreased and cleaned the area where the stripe was to be attached then sanded it with 150 grit to give it a surface to bind to, then apply the glue in 6" sections and stick it to the tyre. Luckily these have a perfect line to run it against.
One test done and all cleaned up and I was happy with the looks so I cleaned all tyres ready to do them in the next few days
