Looks great. I’m a fan of the thin lines.

So am I danthony, I have been reviewing so many period pictures and the thin stripe was a popular option back then.

Cleaned them up and put the trim rims on.

Once again, it looks like, (at least in pictures), That once again you have done one fine job! Damn, those look factory!
Me, well my car is just a couple few years newer, and the raised letters are the look for my car.
But your car, I'm thinking your spot on. To new for red lines. To old for raised letters. Yup, I think you nailed it!

Thanks Doc, had driven on these tyres for a while while I was working on the suspension and they are smooth and have good grip (for a 215/70r15). Hope they look good with the new heights I have set for the 18’s. We will see 😀

I am sure this won’t surprise anyone but I did some measurements of my old Michelin white stripe tyres before they came off a number of years back.

The new stripe is about 3mm off the original ones placement, close enough 😀

Swapped my rims over this morning

Gave it a good bounce but its raining so could not take it for a run to fully settle the ride height but based on past experience only the front will drop a little bit.

Those new (old) wheels look fantastic.
They really change the character of the car.

I agree it looks great in the 215’s with the stripe, will leave it like this for a while and enjoy the classic old look 😀

All up I am pretty happy with how that looks, nice classic styling.

The drive is not as sharp as with the 18's but still handles beautifully.

I thought a belt was squealing a few times then realised the 215's don't break grip the same way

Your car is outstanding!
Some things cannot be improved on. We can change a few things to our liking but beauty remains the same.

Maybe it was when I stood next to a '68 Corvette at the age of 16 that the looks of it was locked into my memory as "This is the way a real car should look.

Restomod at will according to each person's taste...but keep the original beauty intact.

Thanks Tony, I agree it’s hard to improve on some things and trying to do so can often take something away from it.

I have tried to do mods in a way that they are behind the scene or subtle and kept the body, interior looking fairly stock at first glance.

Returning it to these wheels just reeks of classic style and I love it.

Does not mean I won’t swap the 18’ s on when I want a different look but this has a special place in my heart.

Yup, definitely one nice looking car! (Even if it isn't red).

loving that period correct look, I changed out from my TT2s a few years back because white lines were on my build sheet and yes the handling is a little softer but I like my old car to drive like one.

Keep those wheels, sell the TT's, they don't belong on our cars!

So I have been playing with the tune of the Vette

Testing what it was already, base + vacuum advance etc, and realised the vacuum advance was pulling way to far and the mechanical advance springs were very weak and coming in far too early.

I found a B20 advance unit I had and it was better but still too much advance so I made a small plate to allow adjustment of how far it would pull. I mocked it up on the B9 unit.

Should be able to test it out tomorrow and see how it goes.

Went to a Cars & Coffee event here today.

Best turn out so far, over 1300 cars and bikes. Took over 40 minutes to get in the gate with traffic.
