Worked this weekend sandblasting the headlight parts and a few other small parts. Will be panting them next weekend.
Also worked on my air cleaner. Years back I modified it to fit on a Holley carb, just cleaning it up a bit and making a few adjustments.
Ordered my weather striping from Wilcox using there 20% discount!
Stopped by the paint shop and took a few photos. Also dropped off all the trim after I striped the paint so that they can paint it. They took all the retainers for the bumpers off that I forgot to take off before I took them to the shop. I just finished sand blasting the retainers but have to repair a few of the studs and then will paint the retainers.
The plan is that they are going to do the hood this week because it is going to take a while due to it being two colors and a pen strip. They stated that it will require multiple coats of clear with sanding between so that there is not a difference in paint level where the colors meet. Then this Saturday they are going to paint the rest of the car. Going to try to be there to take photos.
Went up to the paint shop today and got a photo of the hood. They told me that it needs to be wet sanded and then a few more coats of clear so that the strips can not be felt. The car was not ready for paint. There were a few spots that they primered again to do some more block sanding.
The hood colors look great, I really like the gray/silver in the middle on the black. Who is doing the work?

Thank you, the work is being done at a Subaru dealership. Most of the custom shops really wanted to much money and the dealership has to make a car look like new.
I know a lot of dealerships who have terrible painters, especially the ones that do a lot of insurance work.
anyways, it looks like the one you are using is doing an excellent job. that hood looks awesome
I do agree but after talking to them and looking at some of the cars that they painted I decided to go with them. Also the manager of the shop is the father of a friend of mine that I know from the military so that gave me a large level of trust.
The shops head painter that is doing the painting also had owned a custom paint shop in the past. Any other shop was more than what I could spend so it really came down to this or painting it myself. So far I can not say anything negative and am really impressed at there level of care that they have been giving my car. I was going to try to stop by today and see how thing are going but too busy at work.
Thank you on the compliment on the hood. I was not sure if I was going to like it, but after I saw it painted I fell in love with it.
