According to the calendar, I have one (1) more day to get my "act" together.....2 months is long enough to be mentally "useless"!

It's time to pick up where I left off on the project......at the rear wheels again!!!!!

THAT'S exactly/probably/hopefully what I will do

It's TIME to get back at it!

But first......... ........the good, the bad, the mostly ugly "Face" of PTSD............

The "good".......the camera still works.....(I realized I lost control of the situation when I could no longer get to the car to work on it).

The .......bad, the mostly ugly after 2 months of mental games with memories (brace yourself)........

Yes, it's under there/needs the correct-year tail light panel (which is in the storage).....

The nearly completed interior (under there somewhere).....

Yes.......there is a "mostly '68 " Corvette under there......

My normally clean workbench where I eat my Sonic meal-deals at break-time.........

Now that I've ratted myself out.......I HAVE to shovel/sweep/pick up/scrub/organize MY side of the garage and GET BACK TO WORK ON THAT CAR!

What bravery to rat yourself like that, and with pictures! If I were closer I would dig in and help you organize!

On the up side......looks like the tires are knee deep in tread, but, you may have to 'go' to Sonic for lunch next time!

You can do it!

Hey Doorgunner just take it one step at a time, don't look at it like where do I start. Small steps man, work bench, stuff around car etc. etc. You really can do it.

Thanks Everyone! What other thread would reach a Milestone by cleaning the work area ?

I cleared off the rear deck.....under-around the rear wheels......the entire driver's side!

Tomorrow..........the passenger's side/the front area and the workbench...........when will it stop!?!?!?!?!?!

O.K...the PTSD is finally giving me a break...I cleared enough things off/away from the car to be able to work on and move it.

I found the (4) inner bushing caps/spacers for the strut rods.....It only took an hour to find them since 60 days ago I placed them in an easy-to-find-location ........

In go the new caps/one pair/inboard strut at a time......lots of grease too.......

Size: 59.2 KB

A few adjustments/a few trips around the subdivision and the rims are showing +1 degree camber on both wheels....which is close enough/just tickled me.......once I set the TOE, I'll adjust the Camber within tolerance......

Of course with those xxtra wide rear tires the previous owner installed, it's difficult to tell from this angle that the Camber is even close to tolerance.......(once again--ignore the late '70s tail light panel...LOL.......

Now it's time to eat a snack......then "get down"....and measure the TOE.

Well...................it's not pigeon-toed!

I previously installed the shim-pack on the inboard side of each trailing arm.

The tape measure says.............59 1/4" in front.........

Name: 100_6937_zps17761519.jpg
Views: 521
Size: 41.4 KB

annnnnnnnnnnnnd...........58 3/4" in rear............

Name: 100_6938_zps6af7f5de.jpg
Views: 561
Size: 88.1 KB

AAAAAAAhaaaa.... the Spec sheet says 59.0" rear track width (-1/8" Toe-In).....

Now.......tomorrow to square the driver's wheel with the frame/then set wheel Toe-In at 1/16".......then adjust shims on passenger's side to read 58 7/8" on tape measure (a total of 1/8" Neg. Toe)......(I think! Feel free to correct my ciphering!)

That should greatly improve the "Three-Legged-Dog-Tracking" that I am currently experiencing
